WARNING: nothing but possible heartbreak & alcohol usage
You know it. He doesn't know you know it. Yet, you're still there. You crawl back. Craving for more and more of something that will never be returned.
You sit on the floor of you and Dan's apartment. He's not home. Although you're worried, you know exactly where he is. He's with her. It's been going on for a while now. The late night shifts at the radio station. His all of sudden "videos" with "Phil". He thinks you don't know what's going on but you're not that dumb.
Crying and screaming, you're drunk. Lately, you've stopped asking him where he's been. You don't really want to know who he's with. Your mind is scattered. Jumbled. You can't think straight. It may be the alcohol talking or maybe it's him. Maybe he's making you this way.
You call Phil.
On the third ring he picks up. His tired voice fills your ears.
"Y/N, why are you calling this late? It's nearly 12:30." He says yawning.
"Phil, I can't do it anymore. I know what he's doing. I know where he goes at night. He comes back with a different smell on him that isn't mine or his cologne. Every night Phil. I don't know what to do. I love him so much. I'll always be a fool for him. I keep wanting something I'll never get in return. Phil, what do I do?" You sob into the phone.
Phil knows you're drunk. You keep slurring a bit and stumbling over your words, but he knows what you're talking about. His best friend has changed. He doesn't hang out with him as much anymore. He's secretive. He's quiet, yet loud and proud at the same time. Phil never thought it would be like this though. He thought Dan would be out getting high or something, but instead he's completely healthy and happy. Just not with you. He never thought Dan would cheat on you.
He sighs. "(Y/N) I th-" you cut him off.
"He's home. I have to go." You say and hang up.
You throw your phone on the couch and grab your drink. You stumble to the kitchen to find Dan putting his coat up.
"Hello, dear." he says smiling tiredly. You take in his appearance.
Hair disheveled, clothes wrinkled, and the small trace of lipstick on his neck. Normal people wouldn't see it. But you do.
"How was your night." You say slurring a bit.
He stops fiddling with his phone and looks up at you. Finally, taking in your appearance and seeing the bottle in your hand.
"(Y/N)... Are you drunk?" he asks surprised. You never drink. Ever.
"What's it to you? You wouldn't care anyway." you snap at him. You stumble and run into the chair when you turn to walk away.
Dan sighs running his fingers through his hair.
"If you start this horrible habit... I might have to leave you." he says looking at you.
"Then leave!" you yell turning around the tears running down your cheeks.
Dan looks shocked and a bit scared.
"What do you mean leave?" he snaps back at you raising his voice a tad.
"Dan, I know what you've been doing. I know you're cheating on me. I never told you how I really felt. Maybe it's because I never had the words to say what I meant, what I felt, or what I knew. I know I'll never be your one and only now. You broke that promise like all the other promises you broke." you say sobbing.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." he says trying to pull the innocent card.
"I can see the lipstick on your neck!" you scream and he flinches.
"I-I-I'm" he starts.
"You're what Daniel? Sorry? No you're not. If you were, you would have told me to begin with. Maybe things would be different then hmm?" you say as if taunting him.
He looks down in shame.
"All I was ever asking for was a little bit of your heart. That's all I wanted. That's all I was ever asking for." You say and walk away.
He doesn't chase after you.
You walk upstairs and pack your bags. He eventually came upstairs as you finished the last one. All the crying sobered you up a bit.
"Please don't go." he whispers.
"Give me one good reason why I should stay." you say and look at him.
Dan doesn't answer you and so you nod your head.
"Glad I know where we stand. Please don't try to contact me ever again. It's already going to be too difficult to get over the person I love the most." you say and start to walk out of your shared room.
"Oh and I almost forgot." you say and turn around. You take off the infinity ring he gave you for your fourth anniversary and throw it at him. It was a promise ring.
"Give it to her. She'll love it." you say with disgust and walk out of the room.
As you walk out of the apartment, you call Phil. You ask for a place to stay for a while and he tells you that you can stay with him. You hail a taxi and tell the driver Phil's address.
On the way there, you couldn't help but think about what just happened.
You knew you weren't his only one but at least you were one and he obviously loved you enough to come back. But he didn't love you enough to come clean. To try to stop his disgusting ways.
But at least a little love is better than none.
Hi! This is not Sapphire. This is the other person that owns the account. It's me, Abbey! So I don't think I'll write on here a lot but here's one. Hope you liked it!
