Morning after

WARNING: unexpected ending

His fingers look so beautiful when laying still upon the black and white duvet.

Your eyes trail along his arm and to his neck where his exposed shoulder blades are located. You've never seen something so perfect.

He lets out a deep breath which causes you to glance up at his face. Those lips, you miss them already.

Events from the previous night replay in your mind. His hands ripping off your clothes and tossing them across the room as he attacks your lips vigorously.

You want more.

But he's fast asleep. His eyelashes look so long from the angle in which you're positioned.

You're no longer laying on him like you were when you had fallen asleep last night. Your body is a couple of inches from his but your legs are still wrapped together.

It's not until now that you realize his left nipple is flashing you. You fight back a laugh.

How can someone look so peaceful while sleeping? You usually look like you've been electrocuted.

His breaths are evened out perfectly too, four seconds between each and his eyes haven't even twitched at all. You should be sleeping too but you're far too mesmerized by the person here before you.

You want to stroke his cheek, feel his life against your hand, but at the same time you don't want to wake him.

But you lift your arm up anyway and reach over to his face.

Just as you're about to make contact a loud crashing sound makes you turn around.

Phil bends down quickly and picks up the lamp he had knocked over. As soon as he stands up, he sees you.

"I'm so sorry. I was just grabbing something..uh, I'll go now. Bye, oh and you guys are cute. Okay bye."

With that he disappears, closing the door behind him.

You laugh, turning your gaze to Dan who is now awake and looking at you with a grin. You could stare at him all day and find a million different things to love.

"Morning."

His voice is deep and raspy. His eyes blink heavily, still beckoning sleep but refusing to close completely.

"Good morning." You reply with a whisper.

You brush the curls off his face and cup his cheek in the palm of your hand.

"I like seeing you in my bed." He smiles, chuckling a bit.

You roll over and sit up so that you can see him fully. You take notice at his hobbit hair, as he calls it. The curls are every where but are also quite lovely to look at.

"What are our plans today?" You ask, lifting his hand up to your mouth and kissing each finger individually.

"Hmmm, here's a thought. How about I attempt to make breakfast?"

The last time he tried to cook, the whole building smelt of smoke and all the neighbors had to get out of their homes until we could clear it up.

"I don't know Dan.."

He rolls his eyes and scoots up so that his back is against the head board.

"I promise I'll make something simple. And while I do that, you can get some more rest."

As much as you don't want him to burn down the kitchen, you would really love some more sleep.

"Alright fine. Have at it."

You lay back down as Dan gets out of bed to put his boxers on, then his joggers.

You watch as he leaves the room and once he's gone, you finally close your eyes and fall back asleep.

Blinking. Awake. You sit up in bed and look around.

This isn't Dan's room. It's dark a dreary. The sky outside looks dark and intimidating.

Where are you?

"Hello?!" You shout out, in hopes that someone will show up and explain to what is going on.

After a moment, a familiar face appears at the door. Your best friend Amber. What is she doing here?

"What's wrong dear?" She sits beside you on the bed.

"Where am I?"

She gives you a strange look and closes her eyes for a long while before opening them again.

"Sweetie, this is your bed room."

Your eyebrows furrow in confusion. How long did you sleep for? Did something happen? Everything was jumbling up in your mind.

"What? How? I was just in Dan's room. Where is he?"

Amber looks at you with the saddest eyes. A tear falls from her cheek as she says, "(Y/N), don't you remember? He died three years ago."
