"Where is it.."

You find yourself thinking out loud as you search through your favorite section of the library.

You come here every weekend to pick out a new book to get lost in.

There's a section entitled For the Hopeless and it's basically a full shelf stuffed with books about love, lose, and all sort of other interesting things.

You found a book online a couple days prior and wanted to see if the library had it.

They must.

Your eyes soon land on the familiar black spine of All the Ways Life Sucks.

It's supposed to be a comedy/tragedy about a young boy who thinks the world hates him. The story is told in the form of a poem though which makes it 10x more interesting.

What's also cool about it is that there's no author. Nothing. Nada.

It gives it more of a personal vibe for some reason. Like not knowing who wrote those words makes it that more powerful.

You stare at the shadowy cover.

Whoever the author was definitely had some issues or maybe he just loves the color black.

You open up the cover and read the description.

These are my thoughts about society and the world. Good luck.

Vague but good.

As you open up to the first page, you notice some soft pencil marks along the sides.

There's a sentence underlined that says "But sometimes you need to cross the street to get to the other side.." and off to the side is a note.

Your eyes scan the jagged lines and crooked words. Their handwriting is hard to read but super intelligent.

Who did all of this?

A thought occurs to you that maybe the rest of book is the same way.

To prove that theory, you turn to another page. Sure enough, the same handwriting is there.

It's on every page. You read them all the way to the very last right there on the carpet, not caring who had to step over you.

It must have a been almost an hour when you're done.

As soon as you finish, you, without hesitation, head to the front desk to check out the book.

You meet Ellie, the librarian, at the counter.

"Good morning (y/n), did you find another book you like?"

Her long brown hair would look so much prettier if it were let out of its ponytail.

You always felt kind of bad for Ellie. She never goes out anywhere, never socializes outside of the store. The bags underneath her hazel eyes show that she doesn't sleep much.
