My group-mates, Alyssa, and I are currently at a sock hop, dancing to a song by some girl named Tammy Montgomery. "My goodness, she's got a powerfully beautiful voice!" Alyssa exclaims as the song ends. My friends and I walk over to Andrew, who's talking to some of the Del-Vikings. "Hey, hey! Glad y'all could make it," Andrew says when he notices us. Jimmy says "It's always a pleasure to see you, Andrew. Oh, and it's quite delightful to see all the Del- wait a minute, where's Dave Lerchey? Where's Rin?" "I could've sworn I saw both of- oh god, they're probably in a back room right now doing things," Andrew replies. Chuckling, Gus Backus of the Del-Vikings states "Rin was the first girl I dated. God, she's purely perfect. Now, go find her and Dave!" Speedily, Andrew, along with my friends and I, walk down a hall, wondering just where Rin and Dave are.

As my friends, Andrew, and I trek down a hall, I see a girl with red lipstick, a semi-unbuttoned shirt, and jeans walk our way, and I also notice another guy, who's wearing an outfit similar to what the Del-Vikings are wearing, follow her. "Hey, Sherman!" Rin exclaims. She then adds "This is my new lover, Dave Lerchey of the Del-Vikings. Aren't I lucky?" However, before I can respond, Andrew chimes in, saying "Well well well, if it isn't Miss Promiscuous and her newest fling!" Suddenly, Dave throws himself into the conversation, exclaiming "Listen here, Andrew. All this stuff you say about Rin is untrue! She's not promiscuous; she's the most loyal person ever!" As the argument starts to heat up, I notice Joe and Alyssa walking off to go dance. Of course they leave right as the argument begins to heat up! Then, Rin grabs some of her makeup and walks over to a mirror, seemingly aware of the drama that's ensuing, yet not caring about it.

I look at Andrew, saying "C'mon, Andrew- give Rin a break! Just let her be happy for once in her damn life!" "I'm not gonna let a promiscuous woman like Rin ruin every guy's life!" Andrew exclaims. Dave groans, saying "Shut up, Andrew! You can't just go around and spill lies the way you do!" Then, with fury in his voice, Andrew states "Listen here, Dave Lerchey. Rin's been with one Del-Viking already- who knows how many others she's been with! Also, Rin is pure lies and cheating, and I know she'll break your heart. Watch out, man! I swear Rin will leave ya in the dust!" Suddenly, I hear a thud, and I turn to notice Rin has slammed her makeup onto the table. She walks up to Andrew, saying "Listen here, Andrew. I'm most definitely not gonna leave Dave in the dust the way you left me in the dust! You think you're so cool when you make me look like trash. I am so done here! C'mon, Dave, my dear- let's go dance and get away from this fool. I'll see Sherman and his friends later," and walks off hand-in-hand with Dave. Sadness fills Andrew's face, and he looks at us, sadly declaring "Maybe I should just let Rin be herself." I'm about to say something when Alan Freed dashes up to us, saying "Sherman, I was looking for you and the other Teenagers! Listen, I want y'all to hop on stage and sing "Begin the Beguine" for us! Alyssa, you can do Frankie's parts of the song. Got it?" Slowly, Jimmy, Herman, Kenny, Alyssa, and I nod our heads.

A short time later, the Teenagers, Alyssa, and I are standing on stage; however, Alyssa and I are standing in front of the microphone that's closest to the front of the stage. That's because we both have lead vocals on this song. Wait- this is Alyssa's first performance with us! Let's hope she isn't nervous. "Here to sing "Begin the Beguine," here are the Teenagers and Alyssa Houlton!" Alan jovially exclaims. This is all so sudden, but I'm so ready.

"(Sherman)
When they begin the beguine
It brings back the sound of music so tender
It brings back a night of tropical splendor
It brings back a memory evergreen

I'm with you once more, under the stars
And down by the shore, an orchestra's playing
And even the palm trees seem to be swaying
When they begin the beguine

To live it again is past all endeavor
Except when that tune clutches my heart
And there we are, swearing to love forever
And promising never, never to part

What moments divine, what rapture serene
'Til clouds came along to disperse the joys we had tasted
And now, when I hear people curse the chance that was wasted
I know but too well what they mean

So don't let them begin the beguine
Let the love that was once a fire remain an ember
Let it sleep like the dead desire I only remember
When they begin the beguine

(Alyssa)
Oh yes
Let them begin the beguine
Make them play
'Til the stars that were there before return above you
'Til you whisper once more to me
My darling, I love, love ,love ,love you

(Sherman)
And we suddenly know
What heaven we're in
When they begin the beguine
Ooh, ooh, ooh
When they begin the beguine..."

As the song ends and the audience starts to applaud, I pull Alyssa closer to me and kiss her, which drives the audience wild. "Ahh! Sherman and that Alyssa girl are totally dating!" I hear a few people exclaim. Then, my group-mates, Alyssa, and I walk off stage and back onto the dance floor as "Get a Job" by the Silhouettes begins to play. As I dance with Alyssa, I notice a familiar face dancing with Rin and the other Del-Vikings. Wait, that's Billy who's dancing with Rin and her friends! Does he even know or care that she has a new lover?!
