Same Sock Hop, More Drama

I can't believe it- Billy's here, dancing with Rin, and he's completely oblivious to the fact that Rin's new lover is less than a foot or two away from him! "Sherman! Hey, how have ya been?" Billy asks when he notices me. I respond "I've been good" as Billy walks over to me. Grinning, Billy says "That's good! I've been good, too. I'm going off to medical school in a few days." "Congratulations, man!" I exclaim, feeling excited for Billy. However, Billy sadly sighs, saying "I just wanna see Rin one last time. When I start medical school, I probably won't be able to see her until the New Year." Slowly, I nod my head. Suddenly, a familiar voice says "Billy! It's so good to see you!" Rin appears, and she looks at Billy, smiling. Rin, you foolish girl! Your lover is standing less than three feet behind you!

"So, what brought you here to the sock hop, babe?" Rin playfully asks Billy. Frowning, Billy responds "I just wanted to say goodbye to all my friends. In a few days, I'll be headed off to medical school, and we probably won't cross paths again until the New Year." The look on Rin's face changes from happiness to sadness, and she says "Oh. Maybe we can spend some time together tonight- after all, this might be the last time I see you before you head off to medical school." "Perfect, my love," Billy responds, and he kisses Rin before they strut off, hand-in-hand. As they walk off, Alyssa walks over to me, saying "Hey, Shermie! I never knew Billy was here! You should've told me, babe." "Yeah. He's going off to medical school in a few days, so he figured he'd stop by and say his farewells." "Ah! Okay then. When I was walking over here, I noticed he was holding hands with Rin," Alyssa says, holding my hand. Then, Andrew appears, and he looks frustrated. "Agh! Is Rin seriously cheating on Dave with Billy, her ex-fiance? I knew that'd happen!" says Andrew. Shaking my head, I respond "Billy and Rin are just spending some time together before Billy leaves for medical school."

Andrew, who seems even more frustrated, replies "You know she'll just end up in a back room with Billy!" Now, I'm growing angry. "Listen here, Andrew! Maybe you should seriously chill out about Rin! She's the way she is for a reason!" I angrily exclaim. Alyssa adds "Yeah, Andrew. For once, you should just forget about Rin. Let her be who she is, and quit trying to make her reform her ways. Sometimes, change isn't a good thing." "I... Oh, alright. Forgetting about Rayen- or Rin, as we know her- might help me," Andrew says, with a sense of defeat in his voice. He then walks away, and Alyssa says "Oh, forget him. C'mon, Shermie- let's get to dancing!" Happily, Alyssa and I begin to dance to "Sh-Boom" by the Chords. Tonight has been filled with drama, but it's been fun.
