It's been a few hours now, and the housewarming party is slowly starting to wind down. At the moment, Andrew and I are chatting outside, while the others are inside doing who-knows-what. "Ya know, Sherman, tonight's been pretty fun," Andrew says, taking a sip of his soda. I raise my soda bottle to my lips, take a sip, and respond "I know! That spin-the-bottle game earlier was fun. It's just unfortunately ironic that Rin spun the bottle and it landed on Paul." Sighing, Andrew looks down and tells me "That's the truth, Sherman. It's a shame that you, Alyssa, Billy, the other members of the Teenagers, and I are watching an affair play out right in front of us." I'm about to say something when the door opens and Rin walks out, wearing jeans and a shirt, trying to button the shirt back up. She smiles and laughs, cheerily exclaiming "Hey Sherman! Hey Andrew!" Wait, why is Rin buttoning her shirt up?
Andrew and I both look at Rin. Rin looks at Andrew and says "I see you're out here talking to Sherman." "Yeah. What have you been doing?" Andrew asks, with a mix of curiosity and anger in his voice. With a smirk on her face, Rin replies "Paul and I did things! Haha!" Andrew looks over the side of the porch, does a spit-take, looks back at Rin, and exclaims "You hooked up with another guy at your own housewarming party, Rin! That's literally so stupid!" Groaning, Rin rolls her eyes and says "So what? Why should you care, Andrew?" "You're engaged, Rin! You need to stop going around and hooking up with random somewhat-famous guys- for the love of god, you're gonna be married soon!" Andrew angrily replies. Dismayed and angered, Rin turns away, saunters over to the door, but stops. She turns around, stares at Andrew, and responds "Whatever, Andrew. Don't think you can change my personality because of a few simple words. Your words have no effect on me; they never will affect me." Then, Paul walks outside, saying "Goodbye, my dearest Rin. I'll see you again soon, my love!" Cheerily, Rin waves goodbye to Paul before walking back into the house. Sadly, Andrew sighs and says to me "My words can't affect her anymore. I knew my attempts to fix her were useless. On that note, I'm gonna leave. See ya later, Sherman." My mind races, attempting to find something to say, but I can't say a word.
Thirty minutes later, the Teenagers, Alyssa, and I are all preparing to leave and go back home. Billy pats me on the shoulder, saying "Thanks for showing up, Sherman. I appreciate it, man!" "You're welcome, Billy. I wish you and Rin the best of luck in your relationship." A smile appears on Billy's face, and he nods. Alyssa motions for me to hurry up, and I walk outside. She embraces me, and looks over at Joe. "Bye, Joey!" Alyssa says. Joe waves, saying "Goodbye, Alyssa, dear." Happily, I kiss Alyssa's forehead, and then whisper "C'mon, darling, let's go." Tonight has been quite interesting, to say the least. However, Andrew needs to keep his hopes up; he can't just let go of Rin like that. He'll be able to get her back to normal... Hopefully.
