It's finally Thanksgiving Day! The other Teenagers, along with Alyssa, Kenny, and I, are at Herman's house for Thanksgiving dinner. As Jimmy fixes some macaroni and cheese, he says "Hey, guys! Ya know Rin and Billy broke off their engagement a few weeks ago, right?" Surprised, Joe says "Well, damn! What caused them to break it off?" "I heard it was because they needed time apart," Kenny replies. Herman opens up the latest issue of Teen Times magazine, holds it out, and says "Look who Rin's been seen out and about with since she broke off the engagement- Dave Lerchey of the Del-Vikings! Also, it says her and Paul Anka may be engaged, but that's a rumor." Alyssa grabs a slice of bread and says "If Rin and Dave Lerchey are a thing, then Dave has another thing coming." I nod my head in approval, saying "Yeah. Rin should just stick with Paul Anka. After all, she's got a bun in the oven, and it's supposedly his." Joe is about to add something into the conversation, but Jimmy exclaims "Hey, guys! The macaroni is ready- grab a plate, put some of the food on it, and eat!"
A few minutes later, my friends and I are sitting at the table, naming the things we are thankful for having. Jimmy looks at me and says "Sherman, name something you're thankful for, man!" Smiling, I respond, "Of course, I'm very thankful for all of you. However, I'm sure we can all agree that we're very thankful that we've met Alyssa. She's made our lives so very wonderful." "I agree. Spending time with Alyssa is a blessing to all of us," Joe says. Kenny nods his head, saying "Joey, that is the truth. Alyssa is a blessing to the group; she's made us all so very happy." Smiling and blushing, Alyssa says "Meeting every single one of you has made my life. One of these days, I dream of being a part of the Teenagers."
About an hour and thirty minutes later, my friends, Alyssa, and I are in the livingroom, watching the news. The man at the news desk is just talking about upcoming events. However, the event he is talking about is of utmost interest to my friends and I. We listen in to the news man, who's talking about a sock hop. "The sock hop will be taking place on Saturday. It will be held at the McNamara Dance Hall. Alan Freed will be there, along with radio host Andrew Harley. The Del-Vikings will also be there singing their latest tunes, so come on down to the McNamara Dance Hall at seven o'clock Saturday evening, folks!" "Oh boy. I guess Rin will be there since the Del-Vikings are gonna be there. After all, she is supposedly dating one of them," Alyssa says as she snuggles up to Joe. "Yeah, I'm sure she'll be there," Jimmy responds. Hmmm... This will be interesting. I can't wait to see Rin, Andrew, and Rin's new lover.
