*It makes me slightly sad that we are over half way done with this journey! Thanks so much to all of you who support my writing and this trilogy! I really appreciate the support! ❤*

You woke up in Bruce and Tony's lab with an IV in your arm. You could hear muffled voices as you came to. The first voice that you distinguished was that of Bruce who was standing to your right. Then you heard Natasha and Clint making comments occasionally. Then you finally heard Tony who was stomping around the lab complaining.

As you slowly opened your eyes, Natasha noticed you stirring.

"She's conscious again, thank goodness." She breathed a sigh of relief and took your hand in hers. Clint smiled over at you, and Bruce put a hand on your shoulder. Tony was walking around the perimeter of the room trying to calm himself down. Even though he was extremely upset with you at that time, he knew that he couldn't yell at you when you were in such a fragile state.

"How do you feel, (Y/N)?" asked Bruce. You tried to sit up, and Bruce helped you.

"I feel ok." You said after thinking for a moment. The room became quiet as though everyone knew what your next question would be. "Where's Bucky?"

They all stared down at their feet before Bruce spoke up.

"He's down in my containment cell." You stared at him wide eyed.

"A containment cell?! Why is he in a containment cell?" Natasha squeezed your hand to be reassuring.

"The cell isn't like a prison cell. It's a place where Bruce can go if he feels like he's going to have a Code Green. Don't worry. Steve is down there with him. He's fine. Don't worry. He just needs some time to calm down." You attempted to stand up, but Natasha pushed you back down.

"I need to go see him. He shouldn't be going through this alone." You said. You then tried to stand up again, but this time, Tony pushed you down.

"When are you going to learn not to be so stubborn, Barnes? Your husband tried to kill you. If it wasn't for Rogers and I, you'd be dead." You thought about one of the words that Tony had just said. Stubborn. You stared off into the distance for a moment then spoke.

"You know what, Tony? I know I'm stubborn." You laughed a little and grinned. "For the first Valentines Day that Bucky and I shared, I bought him a new pair of cuff links. I had saved up all year to buy them, and I had just enough. The day of Valentines Day, I have them to Bucky. He looked like a dear in the headlights. He had completely forgotten about Valentines Day, but he never would admit that to me. So, as he headed off to work at the docks, I watched him go across the street to the jewelry store, buy me a buy me a brooch with a genuine pearl on it, and then go down the street to the grocery store on the corner to buy me a card. That night when he got home he gave me them both. I don't want to sound like a grandmother rattling on, so here is why I remembered this whole thing. When I opened up the card, all Bucky had written was, "You are the most stubborn and beautiful girl in all of Brooklyn" (but Brooklyn had been crossed out and replaced with "The World") He signed it, "The most charming man in all of Brooklyn." You turned to look at Tony who continued to pace around the room. "So, Tony, thank you for calling me stubborn. You've reminded me that the most dashing man in the whole world is waiting for me."

Bruce unhooked your IV and allowed you to go down to the floor with the containment cell. When you got down there, Bucky was sitting facing a corner of the cell, his back to you. Steve was standing with his arms crossed staring into the cell. He gave you a small smile as you walked in, happy to see that you were unharmed.

"How's he doing?" Steve stared silently ahead for a moment.

"He's really shaken up. He kept babbling right after he let go of you. He looked so wounded when he realized what he had done. Being locked in like that just made him get really confused and angry. He wouldn't stop crying when I first got him down here." You looked back at Bucky whose shoulders were still shaking.

"He's had a tough day. Rebecca died." Steve sighed sadly and ran his hands through his hair. You then heard a noise behind you. James was toddling over to you hugging his stuffed hawk. He had been sitting on the floor behind a desk where you couldn't see him. He put his arms up so you could pick him up. You picked him up and held him close. "Can we go in there, Steve?" Steve hesitated for a moment then realized that it would be good for Bucky to see that you were ok. He opened the door up, and you walked in.

Bucky slowly turned to face you. He just stared up at you sadly. You put James down ,and he ran/stumbled/waddled his way towards Bucky.

"Don't let him near me. I don't want to hurt him like I hurt you." James froze and looked over at you questioningly.

"Sit down and play with Redwing, James." James plopped down and started to pretend that Redwing (his stuffed hawk) was flying. You went over at say next to him and across from Bucky.

"Bucky, you didn't hurt me. I'm ok. I'm safe and so are you. You just got scared and freaked out. That's totally fine. I understand that what you are going through is hard, but James and I are here for you. So are Steve, Natasha, Bruce, Clint, and Thor. Just trust me. You'll be better soon. I don't want you to be afraid of being near James and I." You have him a weak smile. He just shook his head.

"If Tony and Steve hadn't stopped me, I would have strangled you. It was only when I saw them that I remembered who I was. I don't want to put you at risk. What if something happens in the middle of the night some night, and I try to kill you again? Steve and Tony won't be there to rescue you. Do you really want to risk you life being near me?" You reached out for his hand. He reluctantly gave it to you.

"I'm willing to risk it if it means being wit you. For better or for worse, For richer or for poorer, In sickness and in health, till death do us part. I made those vows to you on our wedding day all those years ago. What kind of a wife would I be if I retracted them now? You and I have a son to raise and lives to live, and we are going to do both of those together. Understand, Soldier?" He have your hand a small squeeze.

"Ma'am, Yes, Ma'am." Bucky turned to James. "Come here my little Slugger." James scooted his way over to Bucky, and Bucky say him in his lap. He smiled up at you. "Did I ever tell you that our son is going to be the greatest baseball player of his time?" You couldn't help but laugh. Your son could hardly walk, and Bucky was already planning out his future. But hey, as long as it made Bucky feel happy, it made you happy too.
