I Need to Ask You Something...

Part 20

You and Bucky stood frozen. If a fight were to break out, Bucky and you wouldn't have much of a chance. Pierce had 5 Hydra soldiers with him. Escape was impossible.

"(Y/N), who are these men?" asked Bucky.

"You don't remember me, soldier? Oh, that hurts. After all we did together, I'd have thought that you'd have had a better memory." Said Pierce jokingly. Did he know about Bucky's problem?

"Why are you here?" you asked.

"You sound like you're upset that we're here." he said.

"What would you expect? A red carpet and champagne?"

"Yes, actually. Champagne sounds quite good right now, but it isn't the time for you to go to the kitchen." You felt anger rising up in you. "Get her." The men approached you. You were angry and confused. Bucky just stood there not knowing what was happening.

"What are you doing to her? Put her down!" commanded Bucky. He tried to grab the arm of one of the soldiers, but the soldier backhanded Bucky, and he landed on the ground with a thud.

"Don't hurt him!" you yelled. He stood up ,and you could see that his node was bloodied. "Why are you doing this to me?"

"You don't know about your past?" You looked confused. "Oh, well, back after your husband was taken, you were kidnapped. You were injected with a serum like your husband and turned into a winter solder, but while you had the serum, you were never properly trained. That's why we're taking you now. So that you can be the winter soldier that you were destined to be. So that you can be Winter's Bride." You were suddenly very scared. You looked over at Bucky. He still didn't understand what was going on. "We have to get going now. Do you have anything that you need to say to your husband before we leave?"

"Bucky." he couldn't look at you. He didn't want to cry in front of you. "Bucky, look at me, please." He finally did. Tears poured from his eyes. You tried to calm yourself.

"I need to ask you something, Bucky. It is very important. Are you ready?" he nodded his head. "Do you promise that you will stay here and not come after me? That you will stay here and raise James out of harm's way? Please say yes, Bucky. Please say yes." He started to cry harder.

"Don't go. You can't go. I can't raise James alone. I can't do it without you. Please don't go."

"Please say you can, Bucky. I know you can." Pierce had had enough.

"Let's go." he left the apartment, and the soldiers followed after him. Two of the soldiers dragged you out of the apartment. They then put a bag over your head and knocked you out. The last thing you saw before that was Bucky lying on the ground, sobbing, and calling your name.
