When you woke up the next morning, Bucky was still asleep. You slowly eased yourself out if the bed and placed your bare feet on the cold floor. You stretched your arms above your head and grabbed your robe from the foot of the bed. You stood up and put on your slippers. Bucky stirred slightly, and you froze until he stopped moving and his breathing became normal again. You went over to the door and slipped out of the room. You walked towards the kitchen so that you could make Bucky's favorite breakfast-pancakes and sausage links.
After you had the pancake batter made and the sausages fried, you went to James' room and woke him up. You got him dressed and packed his diaper bag and a bag of his toys so that Natasha wouldn't have to wait around when she came to pick him up. You carried James and his stuff into the kitchen as quietly as you could into the kitchen and set him in his highchair. You got out his stuffed hawk (obviously a present from Clint) and started to fry the pancakes.
As you were just about finished making the pancakes, you felt familiar arms wrap around your waist. You turned your head towards him.
"Look who it is! The birthday boy! Happy Birthday, James!" He smiled against your neck and set his chin on your shoulder.
"Thanks, Doll. Are those pancakes?" You took the last pancake off of the skillet, and Bucky released you from his grip. You nodded your head and walked over to where the sausage was sitting on the kitchen table. "Doll, you didn't have to go to all this trouble for lil' ol' me!" You turned around and raised an eyebrow at him. Then you saw what he was wearing. His old uniform. You gasped and almost dropped the plate of pancakes. You carefully placed the plate down and stared wide eyed at Bucky. He even had the hat sitting on the counter.

"Bucky, is that your....?" He grinned at you and took you hands in his.
"Yep. My actual uniform from '41. Did you know that I still have family living in Brooklyn? We have a nephew!" You looked surprised.
"We do? I mean, Becca was just 15 when you left. It's hard to imagine that she got married and raised a family." He nodded his head and went over to James. He lifted him out of the highchair and held him.
