"I need to have a chat with the both of you" Kyle bursts into the employee building, Austin and I breaking away from our kiss.
"Not now Kyle" Austin rolls his eyes, leaning down to press his lips to mine again.
"This is serious" He sighs, and Austin groans, pulling away from me. I turn around to face Kyle and Austin keeps an arm around my shoulder, keeping me close to him.
"What's up?"
"Are you guys dating?" Kyle asks, and Austin and I look at each other for a moment before turning back to Kyle.
"No" We say in unison, and though I also said no, I'm a little hurt Austin did too.
"But you guys-"
"Well, you know" Austin shrugs "What happens, happens"
"Yeah" I agree, and Austin chuckles, kissing my temple.
"I don't think you guys are telling the truth" He eyes us suspiciously.
"We're telling the truth Kyle" Austin says in a serious tone and Kyle nods.
"Well, you guys need to be careful, Britney will flip shit on her if she finds out"
"I'm not scared of Britney" Austin laughs "What is she going to do?"
"She could do a lot" A voice says from behind Kyle and I watch as Britney walks up behind him, her arms crossed over her chest "Lennon, may I speak to you?"
"No" Austin shakes his head "Nothing you say will be relevant"
"I doubt that" She smirks, and Austin clenches his jaw.
"I'll be back" I tell Austin, and he reluctantly lets me go. I follow Britney outside, chewing on my fingernails as she turns around to face me "Listen, I'm really sorry. Things between us just happened and I didn't plan any of-"
"Don't apologize to me, I'm not hurt about it" She chuckles "But you might want to apologize to his girlfriend" She says and my eyes widen.
"His what?"
"Girlfriend, her name is Lynn and they've been dating for almost two years"
"Oh my god" I choke out.
"This is why I told you to stay away from him. I knew from the second I saw you he'd be all over you and I just didn't want that to happen to Lynn. Not to make things worse, but you actually took her job" She tells me and I begin to feel awful.
"I'm such an terrible person"
"No you're not. You didn't know he had a girlfriend, he's the terrible one" She places a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"He seemed so into me" I frown "God damn it"
"Don't worry, it's all going to be okay" She hugs me tightly, and I sigh into her shoulder.
"I'm going to go back inside" I tell her, walking back to the employee building and swinging open the door walking inside. I walk to my bag and grab my whistle, putting it on and walking to sit next to Kyle on the couch.
"You alright? You look a little upset"
"Yeah" I nod "I'm fine"
"Oh, alright" He says, and soon more people pile into the employee building. I look to the door and I can see Austin looking at me from the corner of my eye, but I instead look at my phone ignoring him.
I open my text message and start a text message to Shane, hitting send.
To: Shanie my Babie
He has a girlfriend...
From: Shanie my Babie
What?! Who the fuck does he think he is?
To: Shanie my Babie
I don't know, but I'm kind of upset
From: Shanie my Babie
I would be too
"Earth to Lennon" Britney sing songs, and I snap my head to face her.
"Huh?"
"We're having another bonfire tonight if you want to come"
"Alright" I nod.
"Cool, see you here" She winks and I laugh quietly "First shift?"
"I'll take it" I walk outside to my post and climb up, throwing my towel over my lap, and crossing my legs. Kyle and Britney come out and climb up to there posts. The first shift there was basically no one, and Dan comes out to switch spaces with me.
"Have fun in there biotch" He laughs and I roll my eyes, walking inside of the employee building, only Austin and Will inside.
"Where's everyone else?"
"There's apparently someone causing a scene out front and they went to go handle it" Will shrugs "And I should probably go check it out. I'm nosy and love gossip" He laughs, getting up and running out of the door.
I bite my lip as I'm left alone with Austin. I walk past him and he grabs my wrist, pulling me into him "What did she say to you that made you hate me?" He asks, pushing my hair behind my ear.
"I don't hate you" I shake my head "And she didn't say anything that's important"
"I don't believe you"
"You don't have to"
