/Lennon/

Today was the Fourth of July, and I'm currently sitting in my car, waiting for Shane and Kylie to hurry up so we can get to the party. When they come out of the house I smile, and sigh out in relief. They decided to not have the party at the pool this year after a long discussion, so instead we're meeting at a small social club not too far into downtown.

The club valet took my keys and we all walked inside, seeing the neon lights, and small tables all around.

I spot Austin first, no surprise there, and walk over to him, Shane and Kylie following me. He smiles up at me, and stands up, giving me a tight hug before doing the same with Kylie and Shane.

"The guys are getting drinks, and the girls are in the bathroom" He sits back down, and we nod, sitting across from him. Kyle and Dan come back with two trays of drinks, sitting them on the table, Dan sits beside Austin, but Kyle comes to sit beside Kylie, wrapping his arm around her.

"Long time no see" He grins, kissing her cheek, and she rolls her eyes.

"Hi, Kyle"

"Hey! You guys made it!" Brittany grins, sitting down next to me. A girl I've never seen before sits down next to Austin and I assume that's the Meghan girl they've been talking about.

"Alright, a shot for everyone!" Austin passes around shots, and we all take them from him. We count down from three before we all down them, slamming the shot glasses down onto the table.

"So, is that Austin's new girlfriend everyone's talking about?" Shane whispers in my ear, and I shrug.

"No idea, and I don't really care"

"Oh, don't play games with me. You can't tell me that not even five months ago y'all are telling each other you love each other, but now you don't care he's got a girlfriend, bullshit" He rolls his eyes.

"Well, believe it bitch"

"Lennon, you don't have to lie to me" He places his hand on my shoulder.

"Oh good thing I'm not lying then" I push his hand off my shoulder.

"Yeah, I guess so" He huffs crossing his arms.

We all laugh and talk for hours, I had decided to stop drinking after a second shot, because I knew I'd have to drive home.

When Kylie and Shane ask to go home, we all stand up, and tell everyone goodbye "I'll walk you guys out" Austin follows behind us. Shane winks at me before dragging a drunk Kylie to wherever the valet parked my car.

"You sure you're good to drive home?" He asks, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Yeah, I'm sure" I nod.

"Just making sure, don't want you to get hurt or anything"

"I'll be fine" I smile lightly.

"Okay, I'll believe you" He chuckles "But uh, the guys and I are going to hang out tomorrow, if you want to come..." He trails off.

"Sure, why not?" I shrug.

"Okay, cool. I'll text you tomorrow"

"Okay" I nod.

"I'll see you later" He wraps his arms around me, kissing my cheek before letting go and walking back into the club. I walk towards my car, knowing it's mine when I see Shane screaming out of the sunroof, to whatever song is on the radio.

I get onto the drivers seat, and pull Shane into his seat "All body parts inside ornate vehicle" I state and Shane laughs.

"Sorry"

I drive home, helping Shane and Kylie through the door no leave them on the living room couch, not wanting to carry each of them to their rooms.

I walk to my room, and climb into bed, falling asleep within seconds.

The next morning I wake up to my phone ringing, and I quickly answer it "Hello?"

"Sorry, did I wake you?" Austin asks.

"Yeah, but it's alright" I clear my throat.

"Okay, the guys and I decided to hang out around 3, that cool?"

"Yeah, sounds great" I nod.

"See you then" He hangs up the phone. After the line goes dead, I find myself thinking about how I'm all of a sudden just a friend.

What happened in the last few months, that made me become one of the guys?

When three o'clock rolls around, Austin picks me up from my house, and I get into the back seat with Dan. Austin pulls out of my driveway, and drives to somewhere I don't know.

We pull up to a house that I know isn't Austin's and when a girl comes walking out of the front door, I fight back a sigh.

We're at Meghan's house.

She smiles brightly, and hugs all of the guys, giving me a simple wave. Austin glances at me awkwardly, but I ignore it and look the other way.

I should've just stayed home.
