/Lennon/

I wake up at around three in the morning to the constant buzzing of my phone. I groan and reach my hand under my pillow to grab it, seeing at least thirty messages. I seem to have been added into some group chat with three other people, two of them being Dan and Kyle, the last one being an unknown number.

Guys, I'm trying to sleep, why'd you add me into this?

I send the message, rolling my eyes at the dumb name of the group chat

No! Stayyyyyyyyyy, we need you :(

To: The Lifeguards, who save lives and each other :)
    Too late

I laugh quietly to myself and leave the conversation, not bothering to add Austin's number. I fall back asleep and wake up a few hours later, climbing out of bed. I walk down the steps and into the kitchen seeing Shane sitting at the island, eating a bowl of cereal.

"Good morning" I yawn, scratching my head.

"Good morning" He yawns, shoveling another spoonful of cereal into his mouth.

"Want some?" He asks, sliding a box of cereal in my direction.

"No thanks, I think I'm going to get some on my way to work" I shrug, getting a glass of orange juice. I take it back up to my room and change into my swim suit, and throw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt over top, grabbing my juice and walking down the steps.

"I'll see you later" I say to Shane as I walk out of the house. I get into my car and drive to the pool, unlocking the gate and walking inside.

"Good morning" Kyle smiles at me when I walk through the gate.

"Good morning, how are you?"

"Tired" He chuckles.

"Well maybe don't stay up until three texting in a group chat" I snort and he pouts.

"You left us"

"It seemed like a  conversation between the three of you and I didn't want to intrude"

"Whatever" He bumps his hip against mine "Let's just get this day over with so we can party"

"Hey!" Britney hugs me, once I walk through the pool "Have a drink, eat some food, mingle with your co-workers. We only have one rule, and it's much like the one in Vegas. What happens here, stays here" She laughs, handing me a shot. I down it and she grins, motioning for me to walk off to go talk to other people. I walk off to the drink table, pouring myself a red cup filled with vodka and walking to go sit with Kyle and Dan.

"Hey Babes" I sit down next to Dan on one of the pool chairs and he wraps an arm around my shoulder.

"Hey Cutie" He pokes my cheek and giggles quietly.

"He's a lightweight" Kyle chuckles and I nod.

"I can tell" I laugh as Dan nuzzles his face into my neck.

"Where's Austin? I miss him" He pouts.

"He went out back towards the beach" Kyle motions behind him, and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"There's a beach back there? What's the need for a pool then?"

"Pools are better silly" Dan laughs "But can you go get him for me please? I need a hug from him" He pouts, and I chuckle.

"Sure" I nod, downing the rest of my drink real quick before walking off to the beach. I see him sitting on the shoreline, far enough so the water only washes up on his feet "Mind if I sit?"

"Do whatever you want" He shrugs, and I sit down beside him, our arms brushing against each other.

"Dan's looking for you" I tell him, and he chuckles shaking his head.

"I left because of him" He rolls his eyes "He gets a little gay when he's drunk"

"I think he's just sexual in general when he's drunk" I laugh.

"Don't take this the wrong way, or do I honestly don't care, but why do you keep trying to talk to me?" He asks, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a cigarette, lighting it.

"I want to know you" I mumble, and he chuckles, taking a drag from the cigarettes between his fingers.

"Princess, I don't want to know you"

"Then what do you want?" I ask, but he doesn't respond. He just puts out his cigarette sending me a wink and a smirk, before walking off, leaving me alone and confused.

I sit alone by myself, playing with my fingers, wondering what the hell he might want from me. I decide to stop thinking about it and walk back up to the pool, seeing Austin next to Dan, pushing his face away as Dan tries to kiss him.

"I'm guessing it didn't go well?" Ella chuckles.

"What do you mean?"

"Talking to Austin" She answers "Your best bet is to just stop trying, he's honestly not worth it"

"I know" I nod, turning around to find someone else to talk to. I see that Austin has left Kyle and Dan so I walk back over to them, sitting down.

"Where'd Austin go this time?" Dan asks with a whine.

"Over there" Kyle points to Austin and Dan and I both follow his finger seeing Austin flirting with some girl that definitely doesn't work at the pool.

"What? Oh hell no" Dan stands up from the pool chair, marching over to Austin.

"Dude seriously! You need to go home" Austin huffs, handing the girl something and walking Dan back over to us "Are you sober?" Austin asks me.

"I had one drink"

"What about you?" He asks Kyle and Kyle nods "Good, take him home" He demands, and Kyle sighs, standing up and wrapping an arm around Dan.

"I'll see you later Lennon" He waves to me and I wave back, leaning back on the pool chair.

"Are you really drunk or like not that drunk?" Austin asks me, sitting next to me on the chair.

"I'm not sure yet, ask me in five minutes"

"Hmm, I don't think I'd like to wait five minutes" He shrugs "Nevermind then" He stands up, walking away from me.
