Chapter 10 - Day One

I'm waking up in Peetas arms.
I smile at the sight of him sleeping. He looks so much younger when he's sleeping.
I decide to wake him so we can push Pearl and Rock to eat their breakfast before the games.
I start to pull his arm and he wakes up.
His eyes opens slowly.
>> What are you doing?<< Peeta asks.
>> Wakes you up so we can force Pearl and Rock to eat. You remember our first games? We both were too startled to eat and that wasn't good in the games.<< I say and helps him up.
He nods.
>> Can't we just cuddle a little while? I'm still tired.<< Peeta says in his too cute morning voice.
>> No, not today we have more time when we arrive home.<< I tell him.
He looks at me and tries to look like a puppy. It looks more funny.
>> C'mon I won't be even able to kiss you properly in two weeks.<< he says.
I take a look at the clock. It says seven. I can give Pearl and Rock half an hour more of sleep.
I look at him and smile. He smiles back.
I crawl back under the sheets and Peeta opens his arms so I can lay down in his arms. I give him a kiss on his forehead.
He smiles and kisses me.
It feels like some seconds but our kiss took ten minutes. That is what I call a real kiss.
Or more make out.

Half an hour later, we jumped out of bed and walked to Pearl and Rock's rooms so we can wake them.

I practically drags Pearl and Rock to the table. We force them to eat, but Pearl pukes her up again. I force her to eat more.
>> Why do we have to eat?<< Pearl says after puking the second time.
>> Because we didn't when we went for our games and you become weaker then.<< I tell her.
She nods.
>> You have to drink much water before so you won't die the second day by dehydration.<< I tell them.

An hour after forcing them to eat. Effie trips in fully dressed in purple.
>> Okay, I'm gonna get you to the prep team now!<< she says to Pearl and Rock.
Pearls face turns from the perfect shade of pale beige rose color to the shade of white. Her lips change color from pale pink to almost a purple shade. Rock looks almost calm.
He stands up and helps Pearl out of her chair.

They both follow with Effie and it's just me and Peeta left.
He smiles at me.
>> Then we can have our last breakfast together, the next one is in two weeks.<< he says with a smile.
I smile back at him, lean over the table to kiss him. He sees my move and also leans over the table. We meet at the middle and kiss.

4...

I don't know how long our kiss held, but I don't really care. I also know that we will end up feeding each other.

** TIME JUMP **
An hour later.

Effie walks into the penthouse.
>> Katniss, Peeta!<< she calls out.
We both walk to the hall to put our jackets on.
>> You gotta say goodbye for your tributes now.<< she says and walks out before no one of us can respond to her.

We meet Effie at the main floor with all of the other mentors. I catch Gale staring at me as I am a piece of juicy chicken.
I turn around and begins to talk with Johanna instead.
>> So what do u think of this?<< I ask her.
>> Well, no affence or so. But I think we were too angry to vote for this game. We should've met the kids and then decide it.<< she says.
I nod. She's right.

I hear Caesar through the speakers.
>> Mentors, you all have ten minutes to say goodbye to your tributes before they gets escorted to the hovercraft.<< Caesar says.

I see Pearl and Rock come in and all of the other tributes. All of them are dressed in black clothes, because we aren't allowed to see the clothes they will wear at the gamers.
I run towards them and pull them both into a bone breaking hug.
>> How are you feeling?<< I ask both of them. They look more like ghosts than humans. I feel so guilty.
They both look at me. Their eyes are so deep, it feels like I'm floating around in their eyes.
