Chapter 4: Milah

Killian's P.O.V:

Emma comes downstairs a few moments later, and I motion for her to come into the kitchen. After eating a quiet, light breakfast, I drive Emma to the mall. Once we get inside, she gasps.

"What?" I ask. Have you never been to the mall, Swan?" She shakes her head violently and stares around like she's entered a whole new world. I smirk at how adorable she's being.

Stop it Killian, what the hell mate?! It's not like she has any feelings for you. And besides, you can't do that to Milah. Sure, you've slept with plenty of women, but you never had true feelings for them. So stop this madness. No real feelings. You made a promise! So bloody keep it!! She's a co-worker, nothing more. You can't keep this up. Yes, you're falling for her, but you can't! Come on Killian, get it together mate!

* Flashback, Killian in the Enchanted Forest many years ago *

"Milah, love, come on. At least join me. Come see the view, it's beautiful. I know you love the ocean. All you have to do is come out of the cabin, and come above deck with me." 

"Killian I can't! Don't you understand?! Rumplestiltskin is still looking for me! And he won't stop! I have to say hidden! I love you, Killian, truly, but if he sees me aboard your ship, then you'll be in danger as well!"

"Alright, love... but if you change your mind, I'll be waiting."

I walk above deck where my first mate Smee awaits my orders. I send him to sweep the deck and lean over the railing, breathing in the sea. It's always calmed me down.

"How is she?" My brother, Liam asks.

"Still refusing to come out," I answer, not wanting to go into more detail. Liam nods, giving me a comforting pat on the back and heads back to the wheel. I hear creaks in the wooden floor behind me and I whip around, only to find Milah.

"Milah?"

"I suppose a couple minutes couldn't hurt," she says softly. I smile. She walks into my outstretched arms and I hold her in my arms and we stare out into the distance together.

"Sorry to disappoint dearie, but a couple minutes can very much hurt!" The bloody crocodile has appeared out of nowhere.

"Rumple why can't you just leave us be?!" Mill shouts, stepping forward, her hand on her hip.

"Because you left! Not only me, but your own son! Do you know how hard it was, breaking it to Bae that you just abandoned him?! Well now you're gonna pay. For leaving you entire family behind, for a filthy pirate!" 

"If you lay one finger on her I'll-" I start.

"You'll what? Fight me with that sword of yours? I don't think so. I'm the dark one, pirate," the crocodile spits. 

"Milah behind me. Now." She obeys, stepping behind me.

"You really think that's gonna stop me, dearie?" Rumplestiltskin magics himself to Milah's side.

"Now I get to watch you suffer. You're going to lose your love to me, just as I lost her to you!"

'Please, do you really think that I'd ever love you?!" Milah shouts. "Look, I'm sorry, Rumple! I should've told you that my heart beloved to another! I shouldn't have just left without notice!i shouldn't have just left Bae! And I regret it every day if my life! But I would never go back to you! You're the whole reason I left!"
