Emma's P.O.V:
After taking a long drive to think, I pick up some tacos and drive back to Killian's house. I knock on the door, and when he opens it, a look of relief comes across his face and he pulls me tightly into his arms.
"Whoa what's going on?" I ask, hugging him back.
"Nothing I just... wasn't sure if you were coming back. It's 2:30 and you said 2:00 I was just... worried."
"Killian, I'm fine. And I'm here. I'm not gonna run off again, okay? I promise. I just needed some space is all. I brought tacos!"
"Tacos?"
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TACOS ARE. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN."
"You have no idea."
"What?"
"Never mind, love. But Emma... can we please talk?" Killian asks nervously.
"Isn't that what we're doing right now?" Killian raises one of his eyebrows at me and I sigh. "Fine. We can talk."
Killian guides me to the couch, hands me a blanket, and sits next to me, clearly thinking of how to start.
"Emma I'm going to tell you a story. No matter how strange it sounds, please, just listen," Killian tells me.
"Okay," I whisper.
"Once upon a time, there was a... man in the navy. The sea was his one true love. The one place he felt at home. That is, until he met a woman. Her name was Milah. Milah made the sailor's heart soar to places he couldn't understand. He loved her beyond anything else. Beyond even the sea. As it turns out, Milah had a husband- one she did not love. And so she left her husband for the sailor. They lived their days going from place to place by ship, together, in love. But one day Milah's husband decided he wanted revenge," Killian says, his voice cracking. "Her husband boarded their ship. He killed her. Right before the sailor's eyes. After that day the sailor promised himself never to love again. Not until he had avenged the love of his life," Killian finishes, tears filling his eyes.
"You were the sailor," I whisper, closing my eyes in understanding.
"Aye," Killian says. The tears that had gathered in his eyes fall. "I never thought I'd be capable of love again. Not after what had happened to Milah. That is... until I met you." I look up, surprised.
"Emma... you opened my heart again. You've shown me that Milah would have wanted me to move on. To be happy. And there's only one person I think I can do that with."
"Who?" I whisper, even though I think I know.
"Don't you know Emma? It's you."
It's you
Me? Oh my gosh Killian he... wow. A single tear slips down my face as the realization of what he is saying dawns on me.
I slowly bring my lips to his, kissing him for the first time where we are both fully aware, both wanting it.
