Emma's P.O.V:

I wake up in the rigid hotel bed and memories of yesterday rush into me all at once. He kicked me out. My best friend kicked me out.

Move on Emma. Obsessing over him isn't gonna get you anywhere. So you had your heart broken- big deal. It's what always happens isn't it? Get over it.

Shaking off any tears that had slipped down my face without my noticing, I quickly get dressed to buy some new bar clothes because I purposely left the ones Killian got me, along with everything else he payed for, at his house. First up, Marshalls.

I cruise through the isles of endless clothes in the womens' section. Finally something to distract me. I always stared at the clothes in this store, but I never had enough money to buy them. Now I finally do.

Because of the job your best and only friend gave you. The one who kicked you out...

I pick out some extra tight jeans, low neck tank tops, a couple short dresses, and some leggings and head to the checkout.

"For someone special?" The cashier asks the customer before me.

"Sort of... more like someone I lost and I need to get back," says a man with a beautiful Irish accent.

"Killian?" I whisper. The man either didn't hear me or chose to ignore me.

"Well it's a beautiful necklace. I'm sure she'll love it. Is that all?"

"Aye, that's it."

The man pays his money and as he exits the shop I get a glimpse of his face. My hopes are shattered. The man I thought was Killian wasn't him. It was just some stranger, probably hoping to win back his girl. I guess Killian wasn't messing around when he kicked me out. What was I thinking getting my hopes up anyway?

I pay for my new outfits and head back home. Throwing the clothes onto my hotel bed, I heat up a frozen pizza I picked up on my way and sit at the small table to eat. After so many days of staying with Killian, I'd forgotten what it was like to be alone. The room just feels so... empty. Forgotten. I find myself dozing off and decide to nap until my shift at the bar. It's not like I have anything better do do anyways.

******

I open my eyes and check the time.

Shit Emma you're late, get dressed!

I slip on an extra short, skin-tight, sparkly purple dress with a low neck, some translucent black leggings, and black heels. I lightly curl my hair and apply some mascara, eye-shadow, and a dark red lipstick. I stand in front of the mirror and take a deep breath, the nerves getting to me.

Just yesterday you were standing naked behind a door asking Killian to bring you a towel, and now you're embarrassed to go to work in this? Get over yourself Emma it's not like he cares what you look like. Now get out there and serve some alcohol.

Still nervous even after my 'pep-talk', I drive to the bar and open the door to a sight I will never forget.

There stands Killian kissing some random blonde. And not just anywhere. Right where we are supposed to be working together. So he's already replaced me. That's the last straw. Killian pulls away from the woman and spots me, his face going ghost white.
