Jack's pov

The next morning, I quickly ate breakfast before going to check on Harmony. As soon as I entered the room, I froze in shock.

Harmony had the blanket thrown off and was now scratching at her injured side. Her eyes were still closed but she had a painful expression on her face as her nails dug through the bandages and into her flesh, causing it to bleed again.

As I rushed over to her, I could hear her mumbling something. "Get it...out."

"Harmony, stop."

Once I was beside her, I grabbed her wrist to stop her from hurting herself further. She suddenly thrashed around and started yelling.

"Stop! No more! Please! I can't take any more!"

"Harmony, it's me! Wake up!"

Her eyes suddenly flew open and she stopped. She looked up at me and spoke between shaky breaths. "J-Jack. It's really you."

I let her go and watched her squeeze her eyes shut in pain. "Get it out! It hurts! I want it out!"

I took a closer look at the injury on her side. After her nails had dug some of the flesh away, I could see something in the wound. It looked like...metal.

Before I could even react, the door suddenly burst open, revealing Slender and the other two sirens. Melody was the first to speak.

"We heard yelling! What's going on?!"

"There's something lodged in her side that I completely overlooked! I'll get to work on removing it!"

Slender pulled the girls away from the door saying, "We'll leave you be then."

He closed the door again, leaving me to get my tools out. I removed the remaining bits of bandages that were still partially covering the wound. As I examined it closer, I could definitely tell now that I was right, it is metal.

That explains why it wasn't bleeding much. I carefully felt around the wound, earning a few low moans of pain from Harmony.

"J-Jack. Get it out. Please."

"I will. But it's going to be painful. Just bare with me, okay?"

She looked at me and nodded. I grabbed a pair of forceps and leaned closer. With my free hand, I used my fingers to spread the skin apart.

I noticed Harmony clench her fists and squeeze her eyes shut again. She was now breathing very quickly and biting her lip as she whimpered slightly.

I quickly slid the forceps into the wound and grabbed hold of the object. As I carefully began sliding it out, Harmony began screaming at the pain and a few tears began running down her face.

She squirmed a bit, forcing me to hold her stomach down so I could finish. I continued pulling the object out, little by little, until it finally slid right out.

Harmony's painful screams ceased and she began panting as blood began pouring from the wound. I quickly grabbed a sponge and pressed it against the injury to soak up the blood.

I then examined the metal object. It was the blade of a knife. Now I know why she was in so much pain. To have a blade lodged in your side must be pretty painful.

Harmony slowly opened her eyes and sat herself up. She wiped away her tears and said, "That already feels much better."

I smiled slightly under my mask. "Good. Let me bandage it up."

I cleaned away any remaining blood and bandaged up the wound. Harmony looked at me with a smile. "Thank you, Jack."

"No problem. You just need to be careful for awhile until it heals up."
