Chapter 10 - The Pain

I am still light headed about what happened yesterday. I am so lonely that even at home, I'm not talking.

Daniel moved to our house already. He sleeps at Kath's room and Kath moved to my room.

Daniel installed multiple cameras in the entire house including porch, gate and garage.

In the morning he would always drive us to school and pick us up after class.

The seniors are all jealous of him because of Kath.

I saw Nash, and he was alone and sad on the school garden. I feel sorry about it. I didn't approach him so it would not be harder for him to just move on and get over with it.

In the classroom, Jairus asked about what happened to us. I told Jairus that I dumped Nash. I know its not the right word. But if Jairus is somehow behind whatever is happening to us right now, it would be better if he will know it that way, so he would spare Nash.

Daniel is already waiting at the parking lot beside Kath's car. Kathryn is still nowhere.

"Shar, have you seen Kath yet?", Daniel asked while I walk towards him.

"She should be here anytime soon. You know her!"

"Sorry guys I'm late", Kath shouted while catching her breath.

As we drive home, we noticed a black tainted SUV behind us. Its the same SUV that we saw yesterday. Is it following us?

Daniel stopped at 7-11 to check if the SUV is really following us. The SUV didn't stop, so we drove again.

"Could you please put your seatbelts on?", Daniel said.

He's worried about what might happen next. Daniel was driving so fast that day.

We're finally at home and we saw the SUV near our house. It was parked just across the street but still have fair distance from our house.

Daniel went back to Kath's room, now his room and observes all the cameras.

phone ringing

"Hello?", I picked up the phone.

"Sharlene...", Nash crying.

"Nash?"

What is this I'm feeling? Its like someone had punched my chest.

"Sharlene I called to say I miss you...a lot! You may not like me or the idea that I'm still calling you but I just want you to know that I'll wait for you....

Its really hurting me that I can see you but I can't be with you. Can I ask you something?"

"Sure", I said.

"Why? Why all of a sudden, things have to change? You said its not because I wasn't able to pick you up and I know that. I also know that there is something going on and I wanna know what is it and why?"

"I can't tell you everything Nash. Its like a protocol that if I tell you, I have to kill you. Its hurting me as much as its hurting you. We were so close but things were not supposed to be that way."

"I don't understand...", Nash hanged up the phone.

Kath saw me crying and she approached me. She hugged me so tight to comfort me.

"This is why I don't want to be friends with anyone.", I cried.

"Shhhh... everything will be alright.", Kath said.
