This chapter is dedicated to @tristasterling for guessing the character! It was Agent Grant Ward! For those of you have seen agents of shield and know what(s happened with him recently..that didn't happen. Not here, not in my book. The whole team is together and happy.
Astrid's POV
The car ride had been rather long and slightly uncomfortable. Masks, as I later learned was named Ward, kept giving sideways glances he probably thought I wouldn't notice.
But Ward. What sort of name is that? what are you trying to Ward off? Evil spirits?? I hadn't realized I had muttered that aloud until Ward let out a dry snort of laughter.
"My first name is Grant, not Ward," he said to me. I simply rolled my eyes and turned away from him, mumbling 'I knew that' under my breath. In the corner of my eyes I saw him shake his head, a small smile on his lips. That Coulson guy seemed pretty amused too, which only made me fume a little. I huffed and shut my eyes.
When we started to reach what looked like a facility or an airport or something , Grant reached over and tied something around my eyes. Of course I struggled. I didn't know what he was doing but I wasn't having it. He almost got the blindfold around my head but I jolted forward and smacked my forehead against his. He hissed in pain and leaned back, his brown eyes glaring at me. I childishly stuck out my tongue.
"I'm only putting this on you as a safety precaution, OK?" He said as calmly as he could...it was quite obvious to be he was uber pissed. I sighed.
"Well, you've told me that before you came at me..." I mumbled sassily. He sighed. I had a feeling I was getting on his nerves. Well good. He gave me a look that basically asked me to stop acting like a moody teen. I sighed.
"Fine..put it on..." I muttered, staying still. He sighed in relief and reached over, wrapping it over my eyes. I sniffed a little. Damn this guy smelt good...you know if I wasn't tied down i would most likely flirt with this guy. BUT since I am married, well, no flirting for me.
We stopped at some point and I heard Coulson talking to another man. I bounced my leg in impatience, I wanted out of this blindfold and out of these cuffs. This...was uncomfortable and just a little bit....kinky? That made me sound like Loki when Ns was thorny...
Loki.
My husband. My bind drifted to him. Was he ok? Was he worried? Was he looking for me? Deep down I truly hoped he was, although a part of me was still upset.
I didn't know Coulson had stopped talking, but I was broken from my thoughts when the car lurched forward. I had a feeling we entered to compound or whatever. Into the belly of the beast...
"Would you stop that?" Ward grunted.
"Huh?" I said in response, my head snapping in the direction of the voice.
"The leg bouncing. Stop." He clarified. A snort of laughter left my lips.
"You didn't use the magic word." I responded. I heard a sigh of annoyance come from Ward and one of amusement from Coulson. Glad I was amusing. And getting Ward wound up was a little satisfying. He had an aura of someone who typically kept his emotions under wraps, so to tick him off...I felt a little accomplished. I got mad skillz.
"Ward, bring her into the interigation room and uncuff her and get that blindfold off her." Coulson stated.
"Yes sir."
I heard the opening of doors and moments later I was pulled out. I let out a mumble of discontent. Enough with the pulling around already, I was done being man handled.
"I really don't appreciate being manhandled like this, it's demeaning, it's not like I robbed a casino or something...." I grumbled, trying to make an Ocean's 11 reference. In the distance I heard female laughter.
Soon I was pulled into another room and was seated. Ward uncuffed me and took off the blindfold. Silently, he left the room. It was a black box like thing with geometric patterns on the wall. I was seated at a dean with a chair across from me. I frowned. Was this an interigation room? Probably. Then there had to be a camera somewhere...
"Dont I get my one phonecall or some thing?" I shouted. No answer. I huffed and stood up, rubbing my wrists. I looked around. This room was so bland they needed an interior decorator to come in and remodel. But I suppose it was supposed to be bland to limit distractions... I sighed. I already felt bored...maybe if I start to sing something will happen.
As I started to pace around, I hummed a tune. Then i started to sing the words:
"Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men, it is the music of the people who will not be slaves again, when the beating of your heart, eachoes the beating of the drums, there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes!"
By the last words I was belting it out. Someone notice me. I didnt like this box.
"Who will join in our crusade, who will be strong and stand with me? Beyond the barricade is there a world you long to see? Sonjoin in the fight that will give you the right to be fre-"
I was cut off because the door slammed open and in walked Ward and Coulson. Finally, people! Although I probably wouldve liked to see some bee faces, though I reckon I don't have a say.
"We need to ask you a few questions, please sit." Coulson said. I crossed my arms, pursed my lips and plopped down in my chair. Coulson sat opposet of me and Ward leaned against the wall.
What a macho man.
My hazel green eyes looked to coulson and I raised a brow, urging him to go on. Unconsciously I ru bed tbe markings on my wrist.
"Let's get this show on the road..." he nodded.
