So now I would finally know what was going on. Everything was so damn confusing. First, the mysterious tattoos. Second, this Loki guy shows up. And third, I was part of a prophecy!

Loki began speaking.

"It began a long time ago when a prophecy was for told. I don't remember the words but it included that someone who had the surname 'Woods' would be decorated with those exact tattoos. That person would become extremely powerful." He stopped and looked at me for a moment. "Astrid, you have those same markings and the surname 'Woods.'" He said.

I blinked a few times, taking it all in. I studied my tattoos. They were odd, I had always known that.

"In a few years you will notice that you won't age. And as you grow stronger, you will become very very hard to kill because your powers will regenerate your health automatically." Then he added very quietly so that I could barely hear, "like me." I did, however, hear it.

I didn't question him, just things started to piece together in my mind. Realization of who he might be hit me.

"Oh..." I whispered and I looked at him. He ran a hand through his long black and looked at the floor.

"Yeah..." He said quietly. Awkward silence...whoohoo.

"And as your power grows stronger you will need to learn how to control it and use it." Loki added. I nodded. I had a feeling there was more to that prophecy. Something he wasn't telling me. I sighed and decided to not ask about it.

"I assume you'll be training me to do that?" I asked. He nodded. I sighed and pulled my knees to my chest. I was a little frightened of this 'power.' What would it do to me? I hadn't realized it, but I started to tremble. I didn't realize that I was until he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me. I felt tears well in my eyes and cried into his chest.

I finally stopped crying and I pulled away. I wiped away the tears and took a deep breath. I needed to compose myself.

"You good now?" He asked and I nodded. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't a lie either. I looked at his face and studied it. It was truly beautiful. I knew I shouldn't be thinking that way but, it was true. As I looked at him, he was also studying me. I could see the way his eyes moved slowly over my face. I blushed again. He smirked and brushed hair from my face, probably to tease me.

"You know, you should probably go back to sleep, it's pretty late." Loki said gently. I nodded and laid down, but I was to restless to sleep. He noticed this and soon I felt him shift so he was lying down too. He wrapped his arms around me and nuzzled my hair with his nose.

"Sleep," he whispered. Soon I drifted back to sleep.

I woke up and heard someone breathing beside me. I realized it was Loki and his arms were still wrapped around me. I didn't move, not wanting to disturb him. Suddenly, his grip around me got tighter and he started to sweat.

I shifted so I was facing him. He was shaking and sweating and he was calling out for someone, but I couldn't make out the name. I moved so his head was resting in my lap and I stroked his hair, which was soft. He shook and his hands gripped my sweat pants. The fact that I was wearing sweatpants was a little strange because when I fell asleep in the car, I was wearing spandex. I shook the thought from my head and continued to stroke his soft hair.

Soon he woke up. I hadn't stopped stroking his hair, but I had leaned back on to the head board. I felt him wake up and I moved my hand away from his hair. He grabbed my hand as I started to move it.

"Don't stop, please." He whispered. "Do you sing?" Loki asked.

"Yes, why?" I answered.

"Sing for me." He whispered. He shifted so his head was still on my lap, but he was looking up at the ceiling. I started to stroke his hair again and I started to sing. He closed his eyes and his face seemed calm. He soon fell asleep again. I smiled and laid back. I listened to his breathing for a while before drifting off again.
