When I had finally calmed down enough to talk, I wiped my cheeks a little and looked up at him.

"H-how did I get so cold?" I whispered. Loki looked down at me worriedly. "It's hard to get explain, love." I nodded. "I just want to know though..." I whispered hoarsely. Loki nodded. "And I will tell you, but darling you need to be patient because this is a surprise to me as well." I nodded again and pressed my head against his chest again, listening to his heart. He took a deep breath. I could tell he was thinking.

"Astrid...what I think is...your powers powers started to overwhelm you, draining your energy, to a point were you were close to becoming unable to keep yourself alive. Your powers...they used so much energy because they were protecting you as they changed you...." I looked up at him. "Changed me in what way?" I asked shakily. "Your heart ...it doesn't beat normally." He said. My eyes opened widely. "W-what?" I asked. He shushed me gently. "Let me finish darling...your heart beats double time..." He trailed off. I knew there was more to this. My eyes begged him to continue. He took a deep breath. "...but it seems to be...Frozen..." I bit my lip at his words. "My heart is...frozen?" I whispered, shocked. How was it that...I became scared of myself. What was the extent of my powers. Could I even control them?

A few objects began to shake in the room and I hadn't noticed. The room was getting brighter as well. Loki's eyes flicked around the room. "Love, look at me and relax. Listen to my voice. Please." He said gently. My eyes looked to his. I stared into his green eyes and the I started to get lost in them. The world started to slow as i continued to listen to the words he spoke. They were so...entrancing. The world started to dim and I passed out, my eyes sliding closed.

I woke up days later laying in Loki's bed, curled up and in clean pajamas. I kept my eyes closed and snuggled up closer to warm sheets. They felt nice. I felt the bed shift and sink slightly. I cracked my eyes open slightly and saw Loki watching me. I smiled slightly. "Hello love." I whispered. He smiled weakly. "Hello darling." He said, leaning down to kiss my head. I suddenly recalled what happened. "Wait happened after you know...you uh...made me fall asleep...and why did you do it....?" I asked quietly, pressing my cheek into the pillow. He sighed deeply.

"When you began to fear yourself, objects started to shake and the room started to get brighter...I couldn't think of any other way than to sedate you." He answered. I nodded, understanding why. "And you've been out for 3 days." He added softly. I bit my lip and nodded. Wow. Three days...at least it wasn't 6 months. I didn't want to put Loki through that again. He leaned down and kissed my lips. I kissed him back. It felt reassuring.

"Darling?" He asked. "Yeah?" I replied. "May I ask you something?" He said against my lips. "Of course." I said, continuing to kiss him. "I know it might not be the time, but would you ever want children? Thor isn't exactly anywhere near finding a wife, and my parents might press even in your condition..." He said quietly. I took a deep breath and pulled my lips away for a moment.

"Well...I kinda do..." I said. He nodded and pressed his lips to mine. Well. This was an interesting, and scary, time for me.
