"What the hell are you wearing?" Alex squinted at me as if I'd just come out of a garbage truck.
"Well these are actually-" I was about to list out the various items of my closet I was quite proud of but Alex apparently was having none of it.
"I don't want to hear whatever you have to say because partially I don't care and partially because I know I won't get it." She was going through my closet now trying to find something 'sexy but not too sexy' to wear.
I looked at myself in the mirror. I had casually put on jeans and a t-shirt but apparently, that was her attire. In the reflection, I could see Alex rummaging through my closet.
"Here, I found it." Alex beamed. It was a V-neck, knee length, navy colored dress.
"What?! No, what's wrong in wearing what I am wearing right now." I pouted.
"Cuz then you'll look like me..."
"But what you are wearing is entirely different from what I am wearing."
"Hush hush, you got sexy legs and you gotta show 'em." She ushered me into the bathroom.
I got changed and came out. "You look really pretty, now let's do your hair," Alex said.
"No Alex, please." I groaned.
"Nothing much, just untie it, part it sideways and put a pin," Alex said.
I did as I was instructed and I have to admit, I did look pretty. I put on some lip-gloss before leaving the house and all through the ride Alex bugged me on how I had wasted one precious hour of our four hour fun time.
Yep, that's right, my curfew was at 10.
We arrived at the club at around seven thirty and it was exactly as I had pictured it. Sweaty and crowded. I could smell booze and cigarettes. Just the place I didn't ever want to be in. I immediately felt nauseous. It was an enclosed area so I told Alex that I needed some fresh air and found my way out once I had spent enough time with her so as to not make her feel neglected or offended.
I could see some benches and spotted an empty one. I went there and took a seat. It started getting really creepy so I heaved a sigh of relief when I heard a voice behind me.
"Mind if I join you?" I looked back. There was a guy dressed in a t-shirt and denim with vans. He had an incredibly deep voice.
My first thought was, he would make a good singer.
"Yeah sure," I said once I had come back to the present. He came and sat beside me.
"So you don't come out here often?" He asked. "It's just I haven't seen you around." He added quickly, probably assuming that his question must have been very absurd to a person he had just met.
"Nope, I'm new in this town and besides I'm just returning a favor," I replied.
"Sucks right? I'm also here just for a friend." He gave me a knowing smile.
"Hmm..."
"Oh, I am Ashton by the way and you are?"
"I'm-" I was cut off like always.
"Hey girl, where have you been? The bands are about to start." Alex shouted at the top of her lungs and started pulling me away. I remembered that that guy- Ashton- had asked me my name and not that it really mattered but I turned around and shouted out loud for fun and maybe because I was feeling a little wild, "guess we'll have to find out later."
We went inside and once again the odor of puke and booze hit me. "How can you stand here for a minute even?"
"Come on it's not that bad," Alex pouted.
