I woke up to the smell of fried eggs and immediately became hungry. So I got up and went to the bathroom to brush my hair. I was there for good 5 minutes until a little silhouette of a person appeared at the door. I looked up and saw one of my cousins. I didn't know which one but I could tell this one was quiet.

He looked at me and smiled softly.
"Hi. I'm Billy."
I turned around and returned his soft smile.
"Look kid you seem nice and all but I really don't know how to mix with your kind".
He laughed a little.
"That's okay because I don't know how to mix with my kind either".
He turned around and left me to my thoughts.
"Oh and by the way, my mom told me to come get you. She made breakfast"
"Okay. I'll be there in a sec. Oh and Billy how old are you?".
"8 and 3/4. I'm turning 9 next month".
He smiled and left for the kitchen.

I sorta liked Billy. He didn't seem like the type of kid who stuck crayons up his nose or filled hammocks with sand. He was different.

I walked into the kitchen and immediately started scoffing down the eggs that were on the table. I looked across at Billy who seemed more interested in me then his breakfast. I became a little uncomfortable.
"So Billy how many siblings do you have?".
He must of zoned out because he kept staring at me with his big green eyes.
"Uh.... There's 3 of us". He said, he eyes still not leaving my face.
I started to become a little insecure. Maybe I had a piece of egg on my face so I started wiping it.
"Sorry Kaziah. Your just really p-pretty". He looked down at his hands feeling ashamed.
I smiled. "Thanks".

Betty walked into the kitchen with a big grin on her face.
"I take it that you like my eggs?".
I looked down at the table and saw that I finished the whole plate.
"Shoot! I'm really sorry. I didn't realise how hungry I was".
"No it's fine. Gilbert will be coming around in 10 minutes with the groceries anyways. I'll make some more".
She left the kitchen and went down the hall way.
I turned around to Billy who managed to finish his eggs while I was talking to his mom.
"Who's Gilbert? Is he a neighbour or something?".
Billy studied my face before answering.
"Gilbert is one of my dads workers. He's the delivery guy".
"Why doesn't your dad just bring home the groceries?"
Billy looked puzzled at my simple question.
"My mom insisted that Gilbert should be the one to drop off our groceries. She said she wanted it that way. My dad didn't really think much of it because he just loves seeing her happy".
He got up and took our plates to the kitchen sink before going outside to sit in the sun.

I sat there thinking about what could possibly be happening between my Aunty and this so called "delivery guy".
