Chapter 29

Sage decided to get up and walk around just to clear her mind at what has happened. She carefully got out of the lair and started walking around.

She was just walking around and came across a lake and walked over to it. She bent down and took a sip of the water. After she was done, she looked down in the lake and saw her reflection. She smiled and as she saw herself and admiring herself. "So that's why Kion chose me." She whispered to herself.

She walked away from the lake and sat down at the edge of a mountain just looking at the midnight view.

As she was watching the moon shined on her and the stars twinkled in the sky, she heard a rustle behind her and turned around quickly. She saw nothing and just shook it off like it was nothing. But she was wrong. Little did she know that someone was lurking in one of the bushes growling.

Sage decided to go back to the lair because she was really scared and didn't know what to do or where to go. As she was walking, unexpectedly, she was tackled by a lion cub. That lion cub was fierce and really strong. She pinned Sage as hard as she could and made sure her face wasn't showing in the moonlight.

Sage was struggling to get free from the lionesses grasp. But she couldn't. Sage was clawed in the face and growled. She screamed as loud as she could "KIONNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!"

Kions POV

I was sleeping as I heard a faint scream. I got up carefully and looked around I saw Chase sleeping peacefully. I sighed and smiled. Then I looked to my right and didn't see sage. "Ohhhh no not again." I groaned while getting up carefully and quietly.

I rushed toward the sound and saw two cubs. I looked at the one on top of the beautiful cub on the ground. I couldn't identify the cub's face because the moonlight was blocking her face from me seeing it. I heard the cub on the ground say "Kion please help me!" I noticed that was Sage and quickly ran to her. "Sage... SAGE!"

No ones POV

Kion rushed to Sage as fast as he could. The cub that had Sage in her grasp pushed Sage off the mountain top but Sage was holding on as tight as she could. Kion couldn't believe his eyes at what he has been witnessing. "DON'T YOU DARE!" Kion said as fiercely as he could. The cub said in a deep dark voice "TOO LATE". She took Sage's paws and let go of them. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH". Sage screamed as she fell through the waterfall down into a river landing a hard land in the water. Kion heard Sage's faint screams. He was furious with whoever this cub was and didn't like her. Kion was so mad he could just explode. He was full with anger rushing through his body and lunged at the cub. He still couldn't see her face.

Somehow the cub managed to escape his grasp and run off. Kion wanted to run after the cub but he also couldn't see her face. When he finds out who that cub was he wanted to rip her apart.

Kion ran towards the waterfall and jumped going in towards the water.

Kion reached the river and was underwater looking through trying to find Sage. She was nowhere in sight once he found someone floating peacefully in the water nicely cause of the moonlight shining down. He noticed it was Sage. He swam as fast as he could to her and then grabbed her by the scruff and pulled her out of the water landing safely to shore. He was gasping for air and shook himself off dry.

He shook Sage and tried to get her to wake up. He just sat there looking at her and trying to stay strong and not get upset. He just sat there staying calm and quiet. He knew she was going to wake up, he just knew it.

About 10 minutes later Sage started to wake up and got up slowly. Kion turned around looking at her and walking slowly towards her. "SAGE!" He said screaming with joy and happiness filling inside him. He pulled her close to a hug and she groaned and fell down. She didn't even talk yet. "What's wrong?" Kion asked looking at her confused. She held her stomach making a signal that Kion couldn't understand. Kion felt her stomach still round but no pulse or it moving he only felt her breathing. He slowly looked up at her and said "No... Noo.. this isn't true this can't be no!" "K-kion our cubs n-not br-breathi-n-" "shhh ssh shh Sage don't say anything we will figure this out this just can't be true I swear whoever did this will pay dearly!!!" He said whisper-shouting.

He hugged Sage and made sure she was okay and hope what she was saying wasn't true. He was just praying that it wasn't true. It couldn't be. Its not possible.
