"It all comes down to this
I'll miss your
Morning kiss
I won't lie
I'm feeling it
You're not, no, not listening..." I sing as I wash dishes that we used today at dinner. Martha got out early, my mom wanted her to spend time with her son."I-I, I'm not living life
I'm not living right
I'm not living if you're not by my side..."I'm actually ok with doing the dishes, besides I love that it gives me time alone and time to think. It gives me time to think about my new relationship, which became official just this afternoon...
*Flashback*
"How do I look?" Asks Cal as I open the door for him to come inside. He's wearing a blue button up shirt, with black skinny jeans (classic) and black vans. His hair is as messy as always, but a good messy.
"Stop staring and tell me..." He says wining like a five year old. He's so adorable.
"Cal you look fine..." I say chuckling and putting my hands on his shoulders.
"Well, thanks..." He says smiling and then he smirks. "You look amazingly beautiful by the way."
"Thank you..." I say blushing a little.
I take his hand and lead him to the dining room. There my mom puts the plates where they go and we all take a sit, as Martha and my mother bring the food over to the table. My dad sits at the end of the table and my mother sits on the other end, while I sit next to my mother and Calum sits in between my father and I. Martha excuses herself before leaving and we are left in an awkward silence.
"So, Calum..." My father says as he fills his plate with what he wants to eat. Oh dear... "How's the band going?"
"Pretty good... We've been writing new songs, and in about a month we're going back on tour..." He says before taking a sip from his glass of wine.
"We are really glad you could come." Says my mother, smiling warmly.
"Thank you for the invitation Mrs. Prescott." He says smiling as well.
"Oh, please call me Sarah... I don't want to feel old.." She says laughing a little. He nods.
As we all smile and continue eating our meal, my father decides to speak again.
"And how are you?" He asks with his mouth almost full and points at Calum with his fork.
"I think I'm good..." He answers, as I can feel him tensing a little, so I grab his hand and squeeze it gently. He automatically relaxes and I can help but feel butterflies in my stomach.
"Are you sure?..." Oh no. "I mean, I just know that you smoke, and that's not okay. Besides you're looking a little bit nervous there, maybe you just need a break or something, you know to get that-"
"Gerald!" Says my mom as she glares at my dad but my attention immediately goes to Calum when I hear his voice.
"No... Um... It's ok... Er... I get why you're saying that sir. And I'm working on the smoking thing. To be honest, it's been a couple of weeks since I've smoke and I feel ok. And the nervousness is because I need to ask you both something. Well... I mean, the three of you..." He says as he looks at both of them, and then at me.
"Well then..." Says my father as he puts his knife and fork down. "Go on..." He looks serious, but at the same time I know he's proud that Calum's trying to end the smoking thing.
"Well... Um... I was wondering if... Um... If you would let me date your daughter?" He asks looking at my parents with a shy smile. "If she wants to, of course." He finishes, looking at me with pleading eyes.
How can I say no... I love him! That is the truth. I won't say no. He has become someone really important in my life. I won't let him go that easily. Before I could say anything my father speaks.
"You sure are something..." He says with a smile. "And I have to say that I expected you to be a rebel. But I guess David and Joy taught you well..."
Cal's answer: Smile, look to the floor and blush.
He's so damn cute.
"Well... Does anybody want dessert?" Asks my mom as she picks up each of our plates with a huge smile plastered on her face.
*End of Flashback*
"You haven't answer my question..." Says someone from behind me, which I completely recognize because of the deep Australian accent.
"What question?" I ask smiling.
He raps his arms around my waist and I can't help but melt. I can feel his breath on my neck and my heart starts having uneven beats. His chin rest on my shoulder and then he speaks.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asks, now turning me around to see his face, and so that I can answer.
"I thought you knew that answer.." I say smirking at him.
"Is that a yes?" He asks raising his eyebrows.
I decide to answer the best way a girlfriend can. Oh, who am I kidding? I obviously wanted to do this. I smash my lips on his, startling him at first, but then he answers back. I pull away and open my eyes, only to see him pouting like a five year old. I just chuckle and peck his lips one more time. Then we leave to the couch and watch Netflix for a couple of hours before he leaves. Now all I have to do is talk to my bestie. I wonder how her date with Ashton went.
