Chapter 3 - Hi..

Briar's POV

I woke up the next morning, barely getting any sleep. All I could think about was the cute boy that lived beside me and why he smiled at me. Wait! Did I just say cute?!?! No, I can't think like that what if he just wants to be friends? I clear my head from thoughts and pick out something to wear. I picked out a white crop top, a pair of light blue high-waisted shorts and my white Nike air-max. I brushed my hair and put it into a high ponytail, painted my nails and applied some light make-up. I then walked downstairs and had breakfast. As i was having breakfast my mother told me that we would be having a party so we could meet all the neighbours and just to make a nice first memory in our new home. "ok" I said. As I was about to leave the room, she stopped me and said "wait, your dad and I will be quite busy getting the party ready so you must go and invite all the neighbours " and then handed me a load of invitations. "what about Abbey?" I questioned. "Just go and do it Briar, it won't take long!" Replied my mom. I let own a long sigh and took the invitations and got my phone. As closed our front door, I realised that I might even see the cute boy again, which made me smile for some reason. Ugh! Why do I keep saying cute!?! I just clear my thoughts, once again and set out on my journey. I thought going to the house the boy lived last would be best, as I felt somewhat nervous. Why am I nervous?! Its just a boy I thought to myself!

After a good few 20 or 30 minutes, I finally looked at my hand, which contained only one more letter. I took a deep breath and slowly started making my way to the house. I knocked on the door and I mentally got myself ready for it. Why was I so nervous? He only looked at you through your window Briar, it's not a big deal. I thought to myself. As I was deep in my own thoughts, I realised the door that was closed a few moments ago was already open. "um..hi??, can I help you?" I turned around and realised it was the same boy from yesterday and the one I couldn't stop thinking about. "oh, hi! I'm Briar Nolet! I'm just hear to give you this" I said as I handed him the letter. "my family and I just moved in yesterday and would like to have a party to meet all the new neighbours " I said quite confidently. "and we would like to have your family there, all the details are in the letter" I said. He looks at me and said "ok thanks and by the way, will you be there?" He asked. "yes" I said with a big smile on my face. I probably looked like a clown, I just couldn't stop smiling. "I guess I'll see you there Briar,oh and I forgot to mention my name, it's Myles Erlick He said. "good to know, see you soon!" I said and made my way back to my own house. As I looked back he still hadn't closed the door, he was staring at something. Was that something me?!? The minute he saw my face, he smiled then closed the door. The conversation actually went better than I had imagines it would. I'm usually quite nervous when I talk to boys but the minute I saw Myles a wave of relaxation rushed over me. I don't know what it was but, I know it was something for sure.

For the next several hours, I helped my family get ready. The house looked amazing with all the decorations up and the aroma of the food what absolutely divine. "so, what were the neighbours like?" Asked Abbey. "They were all really nice and most of them had families" "did you meet anyone about your age?" She asked. "Yea, I met a girl called Jessy and another girl called Abi. They both were really kind" I said, leaving out Myles knowing if I started I wouldn't be able to stop talking about him."oh, cool. You know we also have to start finding a dance studio to dance at" she said. "I know, but for now leys just enjoy the party and we'll think about that when we need to" "I said "anyways I'm going to get ready for the party, ill see you later" I said and started making my way up to my room. When I got to my room, something outside caught my eye. I glanced out the window and saw Myles & Abi and they were full on making out!! No!! I decided it was best to just move on and start getting ready fir the party. Myles and Abi were probably dating, way before I came. But why was Myles staring at me then and why did he smile at me?. It didn't make sense. I decided it was best start getting ready and not let a boy distract me. I had bigger thing to worry about. For now..
