Chapter 6 - The Duet

Briar's POV

As Myles walked over to me, I felt a tinge of excitement run through my body. Did I really like Myles that much?

 "Do u want to start the duet now?" He asked 

"Yes, of course" I said, trying to make it sound as if I weren't excited at all. 

"Ok, but we need a storyline"

 "um...what about two friends who slowly fall for each other"

 "sure, thats a perfect storyline" 

After an hour or two we finally figured what we would be putting into our duets and had rehearsed it about a million times. At one point during the duet, i slipped and fell on top and of Myles. I wasnt sure if it was just because i was sooo in love Myles or just because our faces were inches apart, but i dont know, it just felt as if sparks were fying or something. But anyways, any time i get to spend with Myes is magical enough for me. 

Myles' POV

The duet went great. Briar came up with a perfect storyline, just like she is perfect herself.....wait...did i just say Briar is perfect...oh no..

Anyways there were a incident where Briar tripped and she was on top of my practically inches away from my face. I would usually call it a awkward situation to be in as we were just friends but something about it this time felt different. 

Soon, Allain called us and asked us to show him and the rest of the team our duet. We took our places and as the music started playing there was not one mistake made. Everything went according to plan and i think we did quite well. Briar is such a talented dancer she knows everything so she picks up choreo quite quickly and we can do more advanced things. The minute we were finished the duet everyone got up ad started clapping. Must mean we did extremely well then. Allain walked over to us and congradulated us.

Briar's POV

Myles and I preformed the duet and i think we did extremely good. Everyone was on their feet and clapping. Allain walked over to Myles and I and told us that he was really impressed by what we put together. 

"Briar, you have only been here a day and you have impressed me over and over by what you can do. You are a very taleneted dancer, you will go far in the dance industry." Allain said with a beaming smile on his face. He soon told us the dates of the competition. I soon realised I only had a week until would be representing CDC for the first time. 

"Dont worry at all you two, you've got this duet in the bag" said Allain sensing our nervousness. 

As we walked out of Allain office, Abi ran up to Myles and started kissing him and much as she could. I thought that at least Myles and I would get to spend a bit more time together but i guess not. I just walk over to Jessy who starts telling me about how annoyed Abi was when Myles and I were practising the duet. I soon am in fits of laughter as Jessy describes it in full detail.

Myles' POV

The minute I walk out of Allain's office, Abi comes up to me as literally throws her lips on mine. I am honestly getting fed up with Abi, she is really clingy. Like seriously!?! We were a centimetre away from Allain's office!! I have to talk to her about it soon, I'm only keeping up with this because of her dad. Once her dad's fully recovered, im pretty sure the relationship will end. But I'm not sure if I can handle her until her dad recovers, she really is a handful.

As I glance over at Briar she looks like she's having a good time. I was thinking of asking to hang out later. She really is a great person and I just feel so relaxed when I'm talking with her compared to Abi. All Abi can talk about is how amazing she is and other people's flaws. When I'm with Briar its a different thing. I decide to ask Briar if she wants to hang out later so I walk over to where herself and Jessy where.

"um..hi. Could I talk to you for a bit Briar?"

"Sure" she replies with that beautiful smile of hers

"first of all I just wanted to say I'm really happy with how the duet went and second I was wondering if you wanted to hang out in about two hours as friends??"

"yea, that sounds good. I'll see u later!" Replies Briar and makes her way make to Jessy

I watch Briar as she walks back to Jessy and the minute she walks back she and Jessy started screaming, hugging, squealing and jumping up and down. Then Briar looks at me and she suddenly freezes, blushes and looks away awkwardly. Was she happy to hang with me or was it just a weird girl thing? Eh..i guess I'll never understand girls.

Briar's POV

OMG! He just asked me to hang out with him!!! But as friends sadly... At least its a start! I cant wait! I have to rush home, pick the perfect outfit, curl my hair, put on makeup!! Ugh!! There's so much to do!!

I walk over to Jessy and start celebrating with her as she can already tell what happened by the large smile on my face. As we are celebrating, I look back to see Myles looking at us with a confused look on his face. Briar!! Think quickly!! What do you do!!! Oh great! I'm blushing now! I decide its best if I just look away as I'm wasn't going to just stand there frozen until he looked away.

"Jessy, you MUST help me!!!"

"of couse I will, that's what best friends are for right?"

With that we literally run out of the studio, change back into our normal clothes and rush home.

Myles' POV

The next thing I see is Briar and Jessy running out if the studio. Abi walks over to me probably suspicious of me.

"so...do you have plans for later on today??"

"Um not really" I say not wanting her to know about me and Briar hanging out as she will start shouting no matter where we are

"that's great because I need new dance wear and I need you to come with me"

"uh..you see...i have things to do"

"no you don't, we're going and that's final" she says with a big smile on her face

She pulls me out of the studio and tells me to change back into my normal clothes and meet her after. I really want to go and meet Briar but I also don't want to start arguing with Abi again. I decide its best to go with Abi since Abi hasn't been in a bad mood lately and I might as well just go with her as she is my girlfriend. I text Briar saying that I was sorry and that I couldn't make it, but there was no reply. I hear Abi calling my name so I rush back to Abi.

Hope you liked this chapter. Sorry if there are any mistakes. I was rushing this chapter since I hadn't updated in a long time. Its really just a filler chapter, the real storyline will be starting in the next few chapters. Thanks for putting up with my bad writing. Why wasn't there any reply from Briar? How is she feeling??
