Chapter 23 ~ Lost

Briar's POV

I'm running and that's all i know. All i can think about is what everyone is thinking of me. They're going to think that i'm the bad guy, not Myles, me. They're gonna think that i was intending on cheating on Myles from the start. But they don't even know half of the whole story.

I start to slow down as i start to run out of breath. I take a minute to catch my breath and start to walk slowly to my house. It's quite dark now and i start to feel uneasy. No matter how brave i try to be, i can't help but feel scared. Something about this just feels wrong, i just have a gut feeling. I don't know.

I shake off the feeling and continue walking home. My heart is still racing from all the exercise i did. I start to see a figure at the end of the road, i can't see any facial details or anything yet since it's too dark. Whats even weirder is that, the person seems to be just standing there, not doing anything.... This is getting too scary... I begin to turn around and walk the other way.

I hear footsteps behind me so i turn my head and peer over my shoulder. It's looks like a man. Was he chasing me?... I'm utterly terrified right now and my hands are shaking. I try to run but he was too fast for me.

I frantically search for my phone, but its nowwhere to be found. Where is my phone when i need it the most. Tears have started streaming down my cheeks, once again. The footsteps behind me started to get louder indicating that he was getting closer.

I feel two hands wrap around me and i stuggle to break free from the tight embrace. I shout the first word that comes into my mind "Myles!". I know he probably wouldn't have heard me but i had no other choice. I'm so vulnerable and a rag is put over my mouth.

The guy mumbled something but i couldn't hear anything anymore.

My vision started to blur, the world around me started to spin, i felt dizzy and sleepy all of a sudden.

And that's all i remember before everything went black.

Myles' POV

I walking to my car when i hear someone scream for me. It sounded really panicky and i'm starting to feel worried. That scream could have only belonged to one person and i knew it, it was the person who had my heart, Briar....

Hey guys! So, i'm finally back from my break so there will be updates way more often. I hope this chapter satisfied you all, if it didn't i hope the next one will. Thank You so much for everyone who has stuck with me throughout my break. The amount of comments i got asking me to update was incredible! I took really long to update because i had a few ways i wanted this to go. I had two chapters already written up for this update but i ended up writitng a whole new only today.

Cliffhanger....again...what's going to happen now? 😏💕
