Chapter Seven

JADE

It was a new week. I entered the hall with Desirae, feeling terrific as fuck. Asia and I texted the entire weekend. Our conversations were ceaseless. We talked about life, how we wanted our futures to be, the universe, theories, a whole bunch of shit.

Desirae left me at the lockers and went to class. I took some books out and shut the locker.

I felt elevated.

Then the bell echoed, shit, the hall became vacant.

"Yo, Jade!" A male voice shouted.

I turned to look and was slammed on the locker...

Andre stood there, holding me down with his lower arm. He almost choked me.

...what the fuck? ...what the fuck is this? ...is this motherfucker insane?

"Your dike ass has some nerve." He said. "You need to leave Asia alone!"

Yo, what the hell. He's demented. Asia ain't even his.

"You're ruining shit for me!" Andre screamed. "I need her to be mine and mine alone!"

"You can't tell me what to do, motherfucker. You ain't her man. You don't own her."

"Bitch, talk to her once more and I'll fucking out Solana's lesbian ass. I'm sure her mom and dad would love to hear all about her box eating."

Andre and Solana, dated at sixteen, before she was one with herself. Her mom and dad were strict and hated us rainbows. Who knows what'd occur if those demons found out their child was one.

I stared him down in shock. I couldn't believe this shit. He's willing to do all that over a fucking female? Hell nah, man.

I shoved Andre hard in the head. He struck me in the mouth. His fist was not small. I stumbled to the floor, aching. Ow, that fucker.

"I'm being serious, do not fuck with me, Jade. I'll out her." Andre said. "You and her were an item. I know all about the endeavors after school."

Is he Houdini? Solana wasn't vocal about that shit, her friends knew, but she concealed the truth when it came to others.

"You have some serious issues, man." I told him.

"You made them." Andre stated. "You better not snitch either." He went to class.

I exhaled and walked to the bathroom. I was bleeding from the mouth. I'll miss attendance and be late to class because of him, fucking hell.

I rinsed the blood and went to the nurse's office for a bandaid, but she disinfected me instead.

Asia texted me over and over.

"Mr. Davis is taking attendance."

"Hello?"

"He's done now."

"You aren't coming?"

I read the texts and strolled to class. We had math first. I lied and told Mr. Torres, the math teacher, someone hit me with their locker on accident and I had to visit the nurse's office to be treated. He scolded me a little, but whatever.

Andre smirked the entire time. He liked having control. He was a fucking menace. I wanted to hit him so bad, so fucking hard, but I refrained from it. I didn't even look at Asia.

I sat down in silence. Makena looked at me. "That looks brutal, bro. You sure that's from a locker?"

I nodded. "I wasn't looking."

I wanted to tell Makena what occurred, but I noticed Andre staring at me... and backed down.

I looked at Asia, she watched me, flustered.

The bell sounded for lunch. Asia left her items on the desk and marched over to me. Andre stood at the door, watching to see if I'd talk to her.

"Jae." Asia said.

I looked at her.

"You could've at least answered the texts. I think it's rude to leave someone on read." Asia said, irritated.

I remained soundless.

"Hello?"

Makena's brows furrowed and she chimed in. "Um, Jae's a bit under the weather."

Asia scoffed and looked to me. "You-"

"Asia." Andre called, cutting her off. Asia looked back at him. "Come on, babe." He said. Asia exhaled and shook her head at me. "You're fucking weird."

Asia took her items and left with Andre. He had his arm over her neck.

I hate that dickhead.

"Bro." Makena said, shoving me. "What the fuck. The silent treatment? Did she do something?"

"No." I stood, acting normal. "I'm starving."

"What?" Makena asked, confused.

I snubbed her and left the room. Makena clenched her teeth and followed me. "What the hell, man."
