{CONTINUATION OF CHAP. FIVE}
When track was done, I texted Asia and told her to meet me outside the school, she was still here. Mr. Hudson hadn't arrived, so I sat on the sidewalk with Desirae.
"Is that her?" Desirae asked, looking towards the school entrance. I looked over and saw Asia walking with a cell to her ear, she was calling me.
"Yeah." I stood and waved her over.
"Ok, now, she... is a diamond." Desirae stated, viewing Asia. "I'd lose for sure if Mak ever wanted her."
"That ain't true, Des. You're a diamond, too." I said. "Mak's more into character. And she'd never entertain a female I wanted."
"Mm-hm." Desirae sounded.
"Don't do that shit, man. You and Mak are cool. Just confess." I said.
Desirae noticed her dad's truck arriving and stood. "You first, then I'll be assertive."
"That ain't fair." Desirae smiled. "Well, such is life." Asia reached us. "Hi, mamas, this is Desirae." I said, introducing.
"Oh, she's starving." Desirae mumbled to herself about me. "Desirae, this is Asia." I continued, shunning her remark.
"Hi there." Desirae said with a smile. "Hi." Asia returned. Mr. Hudson's truck swerved in. "You two have fun, but not too much." Desirae winked.
It seems I have three moms, I must be an alien.
I made a face. Asia smiled at Desirae's comment. Desirae smirked and climbed into her dad's truck.
I waved at him.
Asia turned towards me. "I like her. You have some decent friends."
"The best humans in this school." I viewed Asia. "You should've left the uniform on." I said. "Your dance would've had a dramatic effect."
"Girl, I'm not doing all that for free." Asia stated. I cackled. "You ain't slick." Asia added, smiling. "You aren't."
"I didn't even do nothin'." I said.
Andre strolled out and noticed us. We didn't see him. He hid behind a wall and stalked us.
Asia checked her watch. "There's a few more minutes until the school shuts, let's make this swift."
"Yes, ma'am." I said.
Asia and I went to the football field. Andre stared us down, furious. He hated what he saw, nauseated even.
Asia and I stood beneath the bleachers. I sat down. "You need music for this?" I asked.
Asia shook her head. "I can dance without it."
"Go ahead."
Asia started dancing. I watched her with full attention, she was excellent, seeing her ass bounce fed into desires. I wanted a bite.
"You're talented, bodacious." I commented. "That's a big word." Asia said. I smiled. "You think I ain't book-smart?"
"Of course I do. I'd never doubt another's intellect, to each their own." Asia said. "I don't hear that word much is all."
"Ok, true." I concurred. I lost balance when I stood and stumbled onto Asia. "Oh, shit." I mumbled, holding her waist. Our bodies were touching.
"It's fine." Asia said, holding me still. I looked down at her and loved what I saw. "You're so beautiful." I told her. I could feel her heart beat. Asia blushed at what I said. "...thanks."
Our home's weren't that far from the school. I took the bus to reduce walking. It's no wonder Josiah beat me. I'm a damn sloth.
I walked Asia home. It took fifteen minutes. Her and I learnt more about each another and I found out we shared similar interests and had the same tastes in music.
I started to like her even more.
"Your crib's nice." I said as I viewed the suburban house Asia lived in. "It looks even better inside." Asia stated. A few more blocks and I'll be home." I told her.
"Remember to text me."
"I will." I started walking.
Asia watched me. "Jae!"
I halted and looked back.
"I'd like us to walk home next week, is that fine?" I was elated. "Of course, mamas."
Asia beamed and waved farewell. "Have a nice weekend."
"You, too, love." I said.
Asia went into the house. I strolled on home. The walk felt like forever.
