Chapter Eighteen

{CONTINUATION OF CHAP. SEVENTEEN}

I went to Asia's house, walked to the door, and knocked on it. I've never been this close. I waited for someone to answer. Asia, to be exact.

The door drew back. Her older sister, I assumed, stood there and looked at me. "Hi. Is Asia here?" I asked. Her sister observed me. "You are?"

"Jae." I answered. "Oh... Asia's in a mood." The sister said. "I don't know who, how, or what caused it, but she came in here slamming doors and her ears were beet red. This is starting to feel normal."

"I can't come in, can I?" Her sister shook her head. "When Asia's like this, she drowns in silence. It's hard to deal with."

"Damn." I uttered. "...thanks."

"You're welcome." Her sister shut the door.

I walked to the sidewalk, looked back at the house, and went home. Asia watched me from her window, hiding behind the curtain.

The following morning, in the hall, I saw Asia taking books from her locker and marched over to her.

"Babe." I said. Asia halted and viewed me, she wore a sad, disturbed look.

"You ok?" I asked. "You haven't answered the texts or calls. I'm worried and a bit confused, babe."

Asia scoffed and shut the locker, starting to walk. I clutched her hand. Asia recoiled and snatched her hand back.

Marcus and Tiana came out of nowhere and flew to her defense. "Yo, don't touch her, hot wheels." Marcus said, standing between Asia and I. I raised a brow. "I can touch her whenever I want."

"You could've." Tiana said. "But, now that's over."

"Girl, what?" I asked, disoriented. "You cheated on her." Marcus said. "We don't allow that around here. You need to head on."

Now, hold the fuck on... what?

"No, I didn't." I said.

Did Solana tell her? Did she see us? Did someone else see us and tell her? What the hell.

I looked to Asia. "Babe-"

"You kissed someone else." Asia stated. "I saw it... in the closet. I was heading to the gym."

Fuck, she was there?

"Babe, listen. Solana came onto me." Asia smiled and shook her head. "I wasn't the one who initiated it." I said. "Please, babe, believe me. I didn't kiss her, she kissed me, she pulled me into that closet."

"That doesn't make it better, Jade!" Asia barked. "You have some fucking nerve coming over here and talking to me after doing all that."

I stared at Asia, wordless.

"You two were an item or-?" Asia asked. "This shit is all new to me."

"No, we weren't. We've done things, but it's never reached dating." I answered. "You still like her?" Asia continued to ask.

"...I did."

"You did?" Asia's brows furrowed. "You took too fucking long to answer that."

"But, that was before I met-"

"I don't want to hear." Asia silenced me. "I'm leaving." Asia continued walking. Marcus and Tiana followed her like flies.

"Babe, come on." I said, devastated. "Don't do this. I didn't kiss her, Asia. I didn't. You have to believe me."

Asia didn't look back, not even for a second.

I leaned on a locker and stared at the floor. Is this karma for what I did to Andre? Is he haunting me? This is such bullshit. Solana's old news now. I don't want her. UGH!
