Days passed and Kristin and Idina started seeing each other regularly.
One night when Idina came home, Aaron confronted her with it. "So you've been spending a lot of time with Kristin lately, right?" Idina suddenly felt very guilty. " Yeah, why?" "Because I miss you, I hardly see you anymore and you don't even tell me what's going on. Are you two working on a project together? " It was hard for Idina to look into Aaron's sad eyes. He didn't deserve such pain. She went in the kitchen to get a glass of water, she needed time to think about her answer. After she took a sip she said: "Well, we haven't seen each other in 12 years, except for one photo shooting. We have a lot of catching up to do." "But every day for the last two weeks?" " It's complicated, you know. We hadn't been on good terms when she left the show." Aaron looked like he was thinking about something and Idina didn't know what to do so she waited for his response. "Can we invite her for dinner? I want to get to know her." Her heart dropped. "Um, sure, I can ask her tomorrow."
Idina had a flashback to 2004 when Taye invited Kristin to have dinner with them. It was awkward because Idina had to play the happy wife with her girlfriend sitting opposite her.
Aaron interrupted her thoughts by taking her hand and pulling her closer to him. He wanted to kiss her but Idina escaped his embrace. "Please, not today." Aaron looked like someone had died. He hadn't expected a rejection. Idina couldn't take it any longer, she fled to the bathroom and burst into tears. " I'm a horrible person," she mumbled.
Then she heard a knock at the door. "Idina, I'm sorry. Did something happen today? Can we talk?" Idina slowly got up from the cold bathroom floor and opened the door. "Aaron, I have to be sorry. I've been a terrible girlfriend lately. It's just that the last few days have been really emotional for me." "It's ok." He gave her a kiss on her forehead. "You know that you can always come to me when you need something." "Thanks Aaron. I appreciate that!" She gave him a quick hug. "Is it ok if I go to bed now? I'm really tired." Aaron looked a little disappointed but said: "Yes, sure. I'll join you later, basketball is on. Sweet dreams. I love you!" "Love you too."
It was hard for Idina to get these words out but she still did so that Aaron wouldn't become more suspicious than he already was.
When she sat in her bed, she grabbed her phone and sent a message to Kristin: "He wants to invite you for dinner. If you say yes can we please get it over with? He's so sweet to me which makes it so hard for me but I can't do this much longer. Love you xoxo" Kristin's response came quickly: "Sure. How about in two days? I can't wait to see you again! Love you too!"
I: "Ok, I'll tell him. I think we can't meet tomorrow. He's getting suspicious. I have to spend some time with him. But soon I'm gonna be all yours baby."
K: ":'( ok, what are you doing right now?"
I: "Texting you..."
K: "I know silly but besides that."
I: "I'm in bed doing nothing. I needed to escape Aaron."
K: "ohhh, I wish I could join you in bed."
I: "so do I ;)"
K: "where's your boyfriend?"
I: " don't call him that :( he's downstairs watching basketball."
K: "sorry love. I didn't mean to upset you!"
I: "It's alright. What're you doing?"
K: "watching basketball..."
I: "seriously?!"
K: "your boyfriend and I have something in common ;) do I see a pattern there? Didn't Taye like basketball too?"
I: "KRISTI DAWN STOP IT"
K: "calm down, I just wanted to tease you a little."
I: "I'll take my revenge on you! But I really need to sleep now. I'm tired"
K: "Remember the times when we could have sex for hours and we wouldn't get tired? Honey we're getting old. But sleep tight. I love you!"
I: "Ha ha very funny. I love you too, even though you're mean to me."
