Idina had thought about excuses she could tell Aaron. When she opened the door, he already came to welcome her. "Hey," he gave her a gentle kiss. "Where have you been?" "I just felt like taking a walk and then it started raining so I went to Starbucks to get breakfast because I was starving. Sorry that I didn't leave you a message." " It's ok, you don't have to apologize," he chuckled. "I got everything for our dinner. Do you wanna help me cook?" Idina giggled. "Are you sure you really want that?"
"It's never too late to learn something new."
"I'll join you later ok? I have to do the laundry first."
"Fine," he flashed her a smile which she returned but felt guilty about.
When he disappeared into the kitchen, Idina ran up to her room to change clothes. Luckily, Aaron hadn't noticed that the clothes she was wearing weren't actually hers. She stuffed them in the back of her closet and went to sit on her bed.
As Idina scrolled through her phone she came across a picture of Taye, herself and Walker when he was just a few days old. It was one of the best days in her life.
Walker brought her so much joy, he made her laugh when she didn't even want to smile. Taking care of him was her favorite thing to do. And she missed him very much when he was with Taye.
Idina wanted to be a great mom to this new baby as well. She remembered what Kristin had suggested earlier today and grabbed her phone to look for the telephone number of her doctor.
Five minutes later she had made her first appointment for an ultrasound. The first step was done.
Idina looked at the clock. She still had time before she had to get ready so she went downstairs to Aaron. She still needed to figure out her feelings towards him which meant she had to spend some time with Aaron.
"It smells delicious," Idina exclaimed, standing next to him. "Thanks," he replied softly.(3 hours later)
Kristin took the elevator that took her to Idina's floor. She was nervous and a little worried about her girlfriend. The elevator doors opened and she approached Idina's apartment. She rang the bell and when Idina opened the door she stopped breathing for a split second. The brunette looked absolutely stunning.
She wore normal jeans and a blouse and she had applied only a bit of makeup but to Kristin she appeared like a goddess. When Kristin remembered how to breathe she noticed Aaron standing behind Idina. She entered the room to shake his hand.
He looked nice but Kristin couldn't help but feel sorry for him. She wanted to apologize for what Idina and her had done, but she couldn't for obvious reasons. The couple led Kristin into the huge living room with the dining table.
"Please take a seat, Kristin. What do you wanna drink? We have wine, champagne, coke, juice and water."
Kristin hesitated for a moment. She looked at Idina. "I'll take a coke. Thanks Aaron."
"And you Idina?" " Um, just water please."
"Ok," he disappeared into the kitchen.
"Thanks for that Kristin, I know you love coke but I also know how much you love a good wine with your food."
"No problem sweetheart... So this is just as awkward as I imagined it to be."
Idina chuckled. "It is. I just want this day to be over." Kristin reached out her hand and Idina took hold of it.
"I know, it was a rough day for you."
"I scheduled a doctor's appointment earlier. Can you come with me?"
"Of course," Kristin replied smiling.
Just then Aaron came back with the drinks. "One coke for you and water for you.
When he handed Idina her drink, he kissed her on top of her head. Idina blushed and lowered her head so that she didn't have to look at the hurt expression on Kristin's face. The evening went on and Kristin and Aaron got to know each other better, it was still awkward but Kristin managed to push her feelings aside for a few hours. Even Idina seemed more relaxed.
When Kristin left she thought: "Aaron and I could be friends. Under different circumstances."
