One reason

(The next morning)

After Idina and Aaron had breakfast and washed the dishes, Idina went to her room to get dressed. She hadn't felt this excited in a long time.
She stood in front of her closet and was unsure of what to wear. She decided on jeans and a blouse. Something plain and simple because she didn't want to be overdressed or underdressed. She also knew that Kristin liked a natural look which was why she only put on a little makeup.
Idina kissed Aaron goodbye and left the apartment, constantly checking her phone in case Kristin texted her.

When Idina arrived at the café, she was nervously biting her fingernails. She looked around and noticed that not many people were there which was kind of a relief because she wanted to have Kristin for herself.

And then she spotted her, alone at a table. Idina couldn't make out her face just yet because Kristin was sitting with her back to the door but in an instant Idina's heart began to beat faster. She neared the table with a smile on her face.
"Hey," Idina said shyly.
"Idina," Kristin replied, getting up to hug her friend. It was cute how Kristin had to stand on the tip of her toes to lay her arms around Idina.

Skin on skin. They felt sparks. They felt a fire burning up. And they knew , in that moment,  that this was the place where they belonged . Where they had always belonged. In each others arms.

Idina was the first to pull away. "I'm happy to see you again," she said.
Kristin looked up to her with a longing look in her eyes. "It's been to long. And you look beautiful by the way!"
"Beautiful is an understatement. Idina is too beautiful for words."  is what she really thought.
Idina blushed. "Thank you, so do you!"
Kristin giggled, "We're so awkward! How about we order something?! Do you still drink your Soy Latte?"
Idina's heart skipped a beat.  "You remembered it!" "Of course I did." Kristin wanted to add that she rememberd so much more than that.  Like the way her eyes sparkled after curtain call. Or the way she rolled her eyes when someone gave her a compliment. Or how every time when Taye wasn't home they used to eat popcorn and watch movies. But instead she bit her tongue and swallowed it.
"So how's life been treating you?," Idina asked. "Have you finally found the right man?" "Ha no. I've been dating around a little. But the right man just doesn't seem to come along" Kristin laughed. She always made jokes about being single but no one would notice the sadness in Kristin's voice. Idina wanted to ask why it never worked out. But when she looked into Kristin's beautiful, blue eyes, she knew why. There was only one reason why it never worked out and that one reason was her.
