04 / letter to your sibling
Dear Oliver,
I love you to the moon and back my little man. You’re still at the tender age of 6. You still pick your nose in public and think girls have cooties. You’re obsessed with Spiderman and you love running around and getting dirty. And you mean the absolute world to me.
You’re the cutest boy ever with your chestnut brown hair and your big green eyes. I know you’re going to be such a lady killer when you grow up. I want the absolute best for you and it saddens me because sometimes I just can’t give it to you but I really try. I hope you know how much I try to be the best person I can be just for you because I know how much you look up to me Oliver. I know you think I’m the best sister in the world but if only you knew how dark my thoughts could get and how many mistakes I make in a span of hours, you wouldn’t think that. I know you’d love me all the same though.
Thanks for being so silly and carefree no matter what happens around you, you really give me hope. Hope that things will get better and I’ll be able to smile and laugh as often as I did when I was your age.
You’re a little booger sometimes, you know that? You get on my last nerves because you’re such a spoiled little boy & sometimes I feel like I have to feed you the world since your favorite thing to do is stuffing your face. Maybe that’s why you’re so chubby Oliver.
I would never tell you this but sometimes I feel so much pressure to be a maternal figure in your life, which sounds silly, but you know how Mom is. I have this need to provide for you and its weird but that’s why I work so hard when I can, because I love seeing how your face lights up after I buy you a new toy. I hate when you ask me to give you things. You always give me the puppy dog eyes. I swear you’ve learned from Puss in Boots. I cave so fast, it’s scary. You’re good at that kid, you really are.
I love you so much Oliver and I just want you to be a kid forever, I don’t want you to worry about anything. I want your biggest worry to be whether I’ll let you have a cookie before dinner or not.
I’d take a bullet for you, I hope you know that. You’re my pride and joy.
Love,
Your big sister Olivia
xoxo
