His Maid

Chapter 26

Mandy's p.o.v

I'm led down a dingy corridor and for the first time in a while I'm actually walking, walking by myself it's the best feeling ever I don't want it to stop, I still have the tape over my mouth but my eyes are not covered and my hands are still tied behind my back but Toby just couldn't be bothered to carry me so he's standing so close to me that I can feel his breath on my neck.

Toby goes ahead of me while to other people come behind me strapping me in, Toby opens a door and I nearly cry when I see him. Reece is sat at the far end of the table with his hands strapped down the chair, he's staring at one corner of the room he doesn't even look when I'm shoved into a chair next to Chase he looks up at me and a sly smile creeps onto his face.

"ah well hello sweetheart you finally made it"

Finally Reece turns to face me, he has a sad look on his face and he can't even look me in the eye, I mumble into the tape trying to talk to him but it's no use i give up and sit back my hands are still behind my back. Chase sees my uncomfort and leans forward.

"sweetheart I wish I could take that lovely tape of your face but you see I don't want you to interrupt this wonderful story that Reece is about to tell you"

I shift in my seat trying not to look at anyone, I have Toby sitting right next to me, and Chase sitting even closer on the other side

"Come on then let's get on with it I can't wait much longer" Chase claps his hands together as if he's actually really excited to hear this story.

Reece leans forward towards me but regrets it when he realises his arms are being stretched, he takes a few minutes to get comfortable takes a long deep breath then starts his story.

He goes into detail about the only ever girl he loved Hannah, it hurt a little hearing him talk about another love of his life. He then spoke about how Toby fell in love with her as well.

"we were laughing and talking in this very house me Toby and Hannah", he looks and Toby and grimaces.

"I had gotten too drunk to take Hannah home so Toby offered to drive her but I followed them I was all over the place up and down the road, Toby had to brake because another car was coming I was so drunk I didn't even look up I smashed straight into the side of the car with Hannah in."

A tear runs down my cheek I know where this stories going and I don't want to hear it, I start shaking my head and looking away, Toby glares at me and takes my chin the same way he did last time,

"you are going to listen to the rest of this and you are going to listen hard because this is what happens to people who fall in love with Reece and so your going to listen and listen hard sweetheart". I pull my chin away from Toby and look back at Reece a tear slides down his cheek as I start silently crying, he carries on anyway.

"I don't know what happened after that but I do know that Toby did a lot for me that night, he uh he switched me and put me in the driver's seat and he sat in my car and called the police, I got a warning for having drank, Toby though; he was drunk, smashed into a car and 'killed someone' that's why he went to prison"

By the end of his story I'm nearly choking on my tears I can't bear to look I stare at the far wall behind Reece and cry I just sit and cry.
Reece looks at Toby, "I'm so so sorry, i didn't mean to i thought-" I can see by the look on Toby's face he's heard this one too many times, "shut up Reece you don't have the right to think you kiled the only girl i loved the only girl ill ever love and what for so you can pretend you actually loved her bullshit Reece i see the way you look at Mandy that's no way you ever looked at Hannah" Reece looks like he could break down any minute he knows what its true even i know its true.
"don't you ever speak to me again, I saved your life that night, what for my parents hate me, I lost the only girl I've ever felt something for, I have no one Reece and I certainly don't want your friendship now or ever"

Reece looks at Chase, the look on Chases face could kill, like literally kill I swear that he's already planning Reece's death. Finally he turns his head and meets my eyes, their already spilling with tears but I can't stop them I come faster as he looks at me with sorry eyes I can see it in his eyes I can see how much that story hurts him he regrets it so much.

I want Reece to hold me again I want him to tell me it's all going to be ok, but I know he can't he won't. I don't know what's going to happen though when I'm going to be let out if Reece is even getting out.

It makes me cry harder soon I can't even keep the sounds in a start crying mumbling into the tape I just want Reece to be ok, Toby turns my chair towards him, and tries to hold me I can't use my arms so I struggle away,

"why can't you just give in for once in your life"
Reece cuts in before anyone else can say anything,
"let her go please just let her go she's heard it all now"
"now Reece I actually really wish I could however I still do have a few matters to deal with, with you and you may need a little incentive to do as your told or to at least stay alive."
"please don't chain her up again it's not fair"
"that can be arranged, maybe depending on how good she promises to be"

Reece looks at me, I look back in that moment I know that I have to be on my best behaviour I need to get both of us out of here alive. I nod my head vigorously and look at Toby pleadingly. He rolls his eyes and rips of the tape again as fast as he can it stings so much I can feel tears spring to my eyes I move my lips about for the first time in nearly a day, I look back at Reece,

"Reece"
"it's ok you're going to be ok"
I know he's only saying that to make me feel better but I want to believe it so so much.
We sit there in silence until Chase stands and addresses Toby,
"get her out of here and take her to Alex"
"p-please don't take me to her"
Chase comes over to me and stands so close our noses are nearly touching,
"and why wouldn't you want to see Alex she'll give you something to do around here so you're not chained up to that horrid chair"

I'm about to answer but I'm cut off by Toby,
"I'll sort her out"
Chase looks at Toby,
"why can't she go to Alex"
"Uh well Alex isn't probably the right person for this job and Alex is well she is uh"
"okay okay just sort her out and make sure she has something on her so she can't run away we wouldn't want anyone knowing you're here now would we little one" I don't know why Chase insists on calling me 'little' he's still staring at me I realise he actually wants me to answer,
"oh uh yes I mean no no I wouldn't want to be found"
"right answer, now Toby take her and do what you want just don't hurt her, don't let her escape and if Alex is going to hurt her don't let Alex near her either"

Then I'm taken out the room, I start to panic, what if I never see Reece again what if Toby kills him what if someone else kills him, what if I never see him again, Toby is dragging me by my arm,
"wait Toby" he keeps going as quick as ever,
"Toby"
"Toby please please Toby" He stops short and I run into the back of him, "what could you possibly want"

"p-please don't h-hurt him"
He comes so close to me grabs my chin again and moves it up so I'm looking into his eyes,
"oh trust me I'm going to do as much pain as I physically can to him"
I nearly choke on my own spit as I know not to spit at him again,
"please don't please"
"ok I know how precious he is to you so I'll make sure he comes out of it alive"I nearly hug him with happiness but what Toby is going to do is probably worse than death.
