Part two of 'Self Conscious'

"I... I wanted you to like me... That's how I thought I would be happy." You explain. "(Y/n), even if that worked, would you be happy if I liked someone who isn't you? If you changed yourself?" He let go of the hug and looked at you holding your shoulders firmly. "I'm sorry, I didn't know..." You weep. He sighs and hugged you again, "I like you just how you are right now, you don't need to change your style of clothes... I liked you before any of this. You're beautiful in my eyes." He soothingly whispers in your ear making you relax. "I love you..."

"Ever since that day, I've tried to be more confident with my looks. But I'm just... Not a confident person."

"Hm... Well, I know someone who is way too confident. Ask Yato!" Hiyori chirped with a smile. You nod with a serious expression, which in others' opinion looked like an adorable pout. "Okay! Thanks Hiyori!"

You wave at her as you skip happily towards a special place.

"(Y/n)!" A sweet voice called you making your heart flutter. You face the amber eyed blonde lovingly, then it hits you... Those thoughts...

Is my hair okay? Did the wind ruin it? Wait no, I might have something on my face! Is it a bug? Wait no, a zit! Can regalias even get zits?

You turn away with a beat red face. "(Y/n)?" His voice calls you once again. This time, he's closer.
You feel a pair of arms around your waist and his breath on the side of your face. "Y-Yuki-"

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He interrupts pulling you closer making your back press onto his chest. "I-I..." You thought about what to say, your pause made Yukine worried.

"Listen..." He sighed, "(Y/n), look at me..." He turned you around gripping your shoulders firmly. "Look. At. Me." You finally complied not wanting to anger him, it was only for a second before you looked away again,

How pitiful...

You scolded yourself mentally. He held your chin up to face him, you scanned his face catching his small smile.

You couldn't help but smile back, yours was hesitant but still a smile. He brought his face closer giving you a kiss on the forehead.

"How can I help? Hiyori told me everything." You gaped at him, Hiyori told him? "What exactly did she say?! "

"It doesn't matter what she said, what matters is that you need help. How else can I convince you that you don't have to look down on youself?" He frowned.

You sighed, "But I want to be confident."

He raised an eyebrow, "Confident? Then why were you going to Yato?"

"He's confident." You shrugged.

"No, he's very egoistic."

"Hm... I see your point..." you mutter.

"Exactly, so I'm stopping you now before you startacting like him. Be you." He comforted you with his smile.

"Who am I?"

"You're (Y/n), my girlfriend. And we'll spend our future together protecting Yato!" He determinedly fist bumped the air.

"I guess that's true..."

"You guess?!" He exclaimed.

"No! I know! I mean... I know It's true." You panicked.

He relaxed and giggled, "Don't doubt it. No one can compare to you."

His words melted your heart into warm soup, you smiled agreeing with him, "I feel the same way... Thank you Yukine..." You approach him with a hug, which he returns.
