Light

This was a request!

You were alone... in the rain... sitting down under a tree hugging your knees.

"I have no name... no friends... why am I even here?" You whispered out loud looking up at the grey sky.

Your silent thoughts were interrupted by the usual. "Ugh it's them again! Get away from me!" You yell throwing twigs at the beetle looking phantoms.

The phantoms only continued approaching you making you stand up and run. "Why! I- i want to live! I want to be happy!" You screamed with tears running down your face.

You knew no one heard you. People in the streets only passed by. You kept running, your old raggedy yukata began to stick to your skin as the rain got it wet. And your shoes were gone.

The phantoms began chanting and getting closer. You shrieked when one of them bit your ankle.
That's when giving up was the only option for you. Or so you thought.

"Watch out!" A baseball bat swung right over your head and onto the phantom. It flew away screeching.

You panicked trying get away from the others coming. You looked up at your savior. His beautiful blonde hair was wet from the rain and he wore clean clothes. His green jacket and jeans... you observed him. He had this light that only made you stare in awe.

"Let's go!" He swung the bat one more time and then threw it at the phantoms. He grabbed your wrist for you to run with him, but you fell thanks to the pain on your ankle.

He grunted rolling his eyes, "Do you trust me?" He asked you.

"Uh..." you blushed staring at him like an idiot. People don't really talk to you. You never knew why this boy was an exception.

"Nevermind... let's go!" He picked you up the fastest he could, and pushed you into a shopping cart and began running while pushing it.

You moved your hair out of your face and smiled, you finally found someone who cared. You felt as if you were being protected by a shield.

He led you two to a store. You weren't sure about trusting him, but all you knew is that you wanted to say thank you. He brought the cart to a stop and looked at you.

You smiled widely, and jumped at him giving him a big hug. "Woah! Okay... hehe." He smiled with a blush.

You clung onto him like a koala, "Thank you." You snuggled into the crook of his neck.

Yato came out of the store yelling inaudible things to Yukine. Then he looked at you and then at Yukine again. "Yukine, what did I tell you? I'm not Bishamon, I can't just take in all these lost shinki..."

"But..." Yukine pouted with teary eyes, "She's super sweet!"

Yato raised an eyebrow at Yukine's strange behavior. "Why would that matter?"

You decided to take this chance to make friends. You hopped off Yukine and hugged Yato. "Please sir, don't be mad at him. He saved me! And I promise that If you let me stay I can help! I don't know how I can, but I will! I... I don't have a name... but you can give me that too? I just don't want to be alone anymore..."

Yato stated at you with sad eyes, then sighed. "Fine..."

"Yay!!!" You cheered feeling like you were 5 years old. It's not like you remembered so... yeah.

"Thank you my lord!" You bowed down to Yato.

He squealed, "You are officially with us! Yukine! Learns some manners from her!"

Yukine rolled his eyes and picked you up from the ground, "You're so light..." He muttered worried about your health.

Living alone and running from phantoms all your life didn't give you time to eat really.

"I'll take her to Kofuku to help with her wound... she's been blighted." Yukine explains taking you inside.

And that was the start of your new life!

Timeskip!

You sighed while wiping windows, you glanced over to Yukine who was dealing with a bunch on small puppies.

You awed at the cuteness making the blonde boy look at you. Your head turns away back to the window quickly. You blushed and continued cleaning.

What you didn't notice is that the window was so clean right now that your reflection was seen compared to the dark inside.

Yukine saw the reflection of your face, and that gave him a confidence boost and he decided to approach you. All he knew was that he liked it when your face changed expressions, so he was going to talk to you for it to happen.

"(Y/n)?" Yes you have a name now with the little tattoo thingy (where ever you want).

You turned around quickly with a smile a blushing cheeks. "Yes my lo- lo... loyal friend?!" Did you think it was Yato or where you calling him something else?

He laughed and swung an arm around you, "Want to go see the puppies?"

"Do I? Yes!"

As you played with puppies and talked to Yukine about stuff that has been happening, he decided that it was time to confirm it.

"(Y/n)," he held your hand, "Have you ever seen the light?"

You blinked, "Um... I know I died in my past life but I don't remember..."

"No, not that light, the light that is inside you." He explained, "I remember seeing you for the do time, you were saying hi to people as they walked by. But no one payed any attention to you. Your happy smile was my light that day. We were busy with other things but I regret not coming to you then. And just recently before you came with us, I learned about what you were, and that soon you'd be killed by phantoms."

Yukine scooted closer to you and the puppies sat down watching both of you. Cute.

"I noticed the day I found you again, your smile was gone. So I needed to start up that light again." He cupped your cheek and put his forehead with yours. "A beautiful bright light that now I can see everyday."

"Yukine..." you spoke silently. "You were my light, the moment you saved me, the moment you talked to me, the moment you made me feel loved..."

You turned bright red, "L-loved as a friend! I mean... unless you want something else- um-"

He now cupped both your cheeks and took his forehead off yours. "Are you ready?"

"For w-what?"

He leaned his face closer tilting his head. Your lips have been touched by his slightly. "Ohhh..." you realized what he meant.

You grabbed his shoulders and connected your lips with his. This moment was so magical. No one's ever touched you like he did, so gently... You would melt if you were ice cream.

He pulled you closer after you separated to breath, he connected the kiss again.

The puppies began barking as if they were cheering. This didn't ruin your moment though...

This did.
