Chapter 6 (Edited May 2021)
Calum silently walked through the kitchen, holding his gun at eye level as he searched his surroundings for hints of Luke. Seconds later Luke was running across the frame of the kitchen and shooting Calum directly in the chest, the bright red blinker on his vest going off. Luke cheered, doing a little dance as he dropped his laser tag gun. Calum pouted, ripping his vest off and throwing it playfully at Luke.
"Don't be a sore loser baby," he laughed. "Let's watch Mean Girls, get the ice cream and I'll put it on," Luke smiled. Calum's lips curved in an approving smile. Luke strutted into the living room and grabbed the movie from the book case, ripping his laser tag vest off before putting it into the DVD player. A soft knock at the door caught his attention as he was switching the settings on the tv. The blonde threw the remote on the couch as he walked to the door and unlocked it, swinging it open with a small smile. The smile curved wider when his eyes landed upon two boys in clean pressed suits.
"Well hello boys," he smirked, staring at Ashton and Michael with a little smirk. Michael looked annoyed and Ashton looked nervous.
"Hi, Luke. Is Calum here?" Ashton asked. As if on cue, the small boy came walking out of the kitchen with two pints of ice cream in his hands. He was staring down at the labels so he didn't see the two men at the door.
"I couldn't choose so I grabbed both," he said as he looked up. His smile was instantly replaced with wide eyes and a gaping mouth as he dropped the ice cream and ran back into the kitchen with burning red cheeks.
Luke and Calum were both having a lazy day so they hadn't bothered to put on any other clothes besides the shared Calvin Kleins they were wearing. Luke chuckled, turning back to the two men at the door. Michael was nodding approvingly and Ashton's cheeks were an unhealthy shade of pink. A few seconds later, Calum came back into the room wearing a pair of shorts that he must have gotten from the guest bedroom.
"Doors for you," Luke teased. Calum walked over with burning red cheeks, smacking Luke's arms as he refused to meet Ashton's eyes.
"So, boys. Is there a purpose to this joyous visit or are you just kindly gracing us with your wonderful presence for the hell of it?" Luke asked. Ashton stuttered a bit as he held up two little cards. The blonde took a hold of them and read it over quickly.
Irwin and Clifford street party
March 17th
12:00PM
Keith streetLuke read in his head. He nodded as he looked up, smiling politely at Ashton.
"We'll be there," he smiled. Calum curiosity cocked his head, grabbing the invitation from Luke and reading it over for himself. The date was set for the next day which is only one day before his next date with Ashton.
"Awesome! I'll see you two tomorrow," Ashton smiled, his eyes lingering on Calum before flicking back to Luke.
"Awesome," Luke repeated before walking away. He swayed his hips, knowing perfectly well that Michael was still staring at him. He bent down and picked up the ice cream cartons, wiggling his ass a bit before getting up and walking into the living room.
"I hate everything," Michael muttered before walking to the car. Ashton chuckled, tossing the man the keys before turning back to Calum. The smaller boy was shyly chewing on the collar of his oversized tee shirt, trying to avoid eye contact. Ashton stared for a moment, his stomach fluttering.
"I probably should have called first but I kind of just needed an excuse to come and see you. I got a bit more than I expected but I'm not really going to complain," Ashton said. Calum giggled, lightly smacking Ashton's arm as he stopped chewing on the collar of his shirt.
"Sorry about that. I usually have clothes on but I didn't expect company today. Especially not handsome lawyers with invitations to street parties," Calum laughed. Ashton blushed a bit, fiddling with the button on his shirt cuffs.
"It's all good. I should head back to work but I'll text you, okay?" Ashton said. Calum nodded, holding on to the end of Ashton's suit jacket. The hazel eyed man didn't dare turn around to leave, he allowed Calum to hold him in place and play with the seam of his jacket. Calum bit his lip as he stepped closer to Ashton, wrapping his small arms around the man's waist. The man smiled softly, wrapping his arms around Calum's shoulders, holding the boy to his chest. Calum sighed, resting his cheek against Ashton's chest, it was warm and soothing, making his eyes flutter shut. He smelled of freshly brewed coffee and a cologne that wasn't overpowering but comforting. Ashton gently ran his fingers through Calum's hair, only soothing the boy further.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Ashton whispered, kissing Calum's forehead as the small boy pulled away.
"See you tomorrow," he nodded, waving with a sweet smile as Ashton walked down the driveway and got into his car. Calum sighed out happily as he closed the door and locked it before walking to the living room. Luke had put the movie on, the main menu on the screen, ready to be played. Calum dramatically sighed as he threw himself on the couch, resting his head on Luke's lap. The blonde laughed, running his hand through Calum's hair.
"I see love in someone's future," Luke said in a sing-song tone.
"I hugged him. He hugged me back," Calum said with a starry twinkle in his chocolate brown eyes. Luke chuckled, patting the top of Calum's head as he pressed play on the movie.
"I saw. I know I can be really practical and a downer but I really think you two have a future. He just screams 'Calum's type', it's actually making me sick. I might throw up," Luke pretended to gag. Calum giggled, pushing himself into a sitting position.
"And what exactly is 'Calum's type'?" He asked curiously. Luke shrugged, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table.
"Patient. Loving. Romantic. He literally left work to personally invite us to a street party. Plus he said it was an excuse to see you, the lost astronauts on Pluto can see the little bubble of puppy love forming around you two," Luke said.
"Luke. How many time do we have to go through this? There are no lost astronauts on Pluto, you had that dream when you were eleven years old and coming down from a sugar high, let it go," Calum said. Luke glared at the boy, pointing a finger at him.
"One day I will prove you wrong," Luke said. Calum rolled his eyes, turning his attention to the movie.
"I do think he's really good for you though," Luke said, scooping a bit of ice cream into his mouth. Calum smiled softly, a blush creeping on to his cheeks.
"I do too. He's really nice," Calum said. Luke sighed, leaning into Calum's side as they watched the movie and cuddled.
