Chapter 33 (edited May 2021)
Luke danced around his room with a tube of mascara in his hand. Music played on a loud setting throughout his room as he and Calum got ready. The two were already dressed and their hair was already done, so they were finishing up their makeup, drinking glasses of wine, waiting for the sound of the doorbell.
"When's the last time we got ready together?," Luke asked. "I miss having quality Calum time. Ashton's been Calum hogging," he pouted, turning the volume on the stereo down as he approached Calum. The boy chuckled as he zipped up his heels.
"Well Michaels has been Luke hogging. How's that going by the way? You seem happy," Calum said, smiling softly as he and Luke sat down on the edge of Luke's bed.
"It's going really good," Luke paused as he blushed. "He's been helping Kina with the pregnancy and everything but he never wants to talk about it. He doesn't even seem the least bit happy about it," Luke explained with a small frown.
"Well maybe he's just not. Some people just aren't kid people," Calum said softly as he laid himself
down on Luke's bed."But I know he is! He dates all the appointments and I've seen his Google history, it's all about baby development and growth. I just feel like he's holding himself back from being excited, like he's guilty
or something. I hate that he's hurting," Luke said as he laid down beside Calum."Just talk to him," Calum said. "Maybe he's just afraid of losing you now that he's finally got you," he shrugged. Luke sighed, shaking his head as he laid it on Calum's chest.
"I don't think that's it. It's just a feeling in my gut," Luke sighed .
"It'll all be okay, Lukey. Somehow and someway, it'll all work out," Calum assured.
"I hope so. Let's just roll through the punches as best we can until then," Luke said, cuddling into Calum's side. They stayed silent for a long moment, and before they realized it, Luke's bedroom door was opening and two familiar men were stepping into the room.
"Well hello boys," Ashton chuckled as he sat down on the edge of the bed, rubbing his hand over Calum's calf.
"Oh hey," Calum casually greeted as Luke cuddled further into him. Michael walked over and laid himself down on top of both of the boys, holding himself slightly on his elbows. He pressed his face into the side of Luke's neck, making him laugh.
"Ow, you're crushing me, you ape," Calum teased, poking Michaels side as he wiggled out from under him.
"Hey! Don't call me boyfriend names," Luke said, pushing Calum off of the bed. The boy huffed, slapping Luke's leg with a pout. Ashton chuckled, helping the boy up without getting up from the bed. Calum straddled Ashton's lap, wrapping his arms around the man's shoulders.
"How's my baby feeling?" Ashton asked softly, gently kissing Calum's lips. Michael and Luke took to play fighting, eventually rolling off of the bed about the same time that Calum straddled Ashton. They fell into a fit of laughter and continued to play fight.
"I'm fine, I missed you," Calum blushed, laying his cheek on Ashton's shoulder so he could gently kiss the side of Ashton's neck.
"We were only apart for a few hours," Ashton chuckled. Calum shrugged, holding onto Ashton's tighter.
"I know, but I don't feel the best today and I need to be clingy for awhile," Calum said. Ashton rubbed his hands along Calum's back, his fingers delicately dancing along the smooth tan skin.
