Velma was an amazing dog and she got the name in a very interesting way. She got her name when I was having a big gathering at my house with friends and we were watching a movie from our childhood/ cartoons we enjoyed. We were all sitting down in the living room with the tv blasting and we heard a sudden screaming howl that freaked us all out. Popcorn flew out of the bowls and soda was sprung from our drinks. It was like a horror movie in the making. I grabbed a bat for some apparent reason because everyone was kinda scared. We all headed up stairs of course in single file and looked around to find nothing. I looked out the back window and saw a dog sitting whimpering and scratching at the door desperately trying to get in. It was beat up and had scars on its body. It was a pit bull. My cousins were all screaming don't let it in it'll hurt us or even worse bite is and our lives will he ruined because he will rip off one of our body parts. I made the wise decision to let him in because it raining that day and I felt bad for her sitting out there in the rain all by herself. She was part of a pit bull fighting ring probably that's what all we thought and she escaped and made it to us and she would now be safe and never be hurt again. She loved to the age of 9 and she lived a long and happy life and died peacefully in her sleep and was buried in my cousins back yard who adopted her.
