Bram's POV:
Clink, clink, clink.
I frown at the noise, wondering where that was coming from and I look over my shoulders to see if anyone was behind me. Nope... My eyes soon catches a glimpse of metal and I raise an eyebrow. I stare at where I saw the metal and notice it was a key. And that key was out of my grasp, lying on the floor; taunting me. I growl at this, wondering who got the key and I see something move in the shadows.
Familiar eyes stare back at me and stays hidden in the shadows. Hello Bram, I see that you're finally caught by the officials? A voice telepathically says inside my head.
I give out a small groan, only one that he and I could hear and I say telepathically back to him, Hello Tokoshi, long time no see? Let me guess you had nothing better to do and decided to taunt me with the only thing that could get my freedom back. How... Nice.
A small laugh could be heard in my head, a movement of fabric was seen when he moved and says telepathically, No... Well yes, actually. I was just absolutely bored out of my mind and decided to come and see you. No worries though, I heard about Cronus being on the rage again.
I scoff at this absurdity, I glance into the shadows and notice that Tokoshi was now melded into the shadows; as if he was one with it. Don't remind me... It's been rather difficult to get out of these cuffs and Cronus has probably killed over a hundred innocents by now. So... Can you like get me out of these?
No. Was Tokoshi's response, and then there was absolute silence for a while. Should of been more careful, running around town with a wooden stake in your hands. No matter what you do Bram, you suck as a Hunter.
I scowl at this insult, I look at the window and caught a glimpse of Tokoshi. I raise an eyebrow, wondering what the hell he was doing and I telepathically say, Shut up Tokoshi. like you can do better. I glance at the key that was still in the same spot as earlier, I set my cuffed hands on the table and strained my hand to grab it. My fingers grazed the metal part of the key and it moved slightly out of my reach. I slump back in the chair, mentally cursing at the key that was almost in my grasp and I stare into the shadows at Tokoshi.
The air suddenly felt stale, there was nothing but tension in the air and I realized that Tokoshi has stopped time altogether.
Tokoshi steps out of the shadows, his face filled with no emotions and says bluntly, "So Cronus, he decided to finally make himself known to the world by becoming a mass serial killer. Interesting..." He sits across from me, his lips pursed into a thin line and waits for my response.
I give Tokoshi the evil eye, seriously pissed off at him and I say, "No, not interesting... Now, can you please take these cursed things off of my wrists!?" I hold up my hands, indicating the cuffs that were causing red marks on my wrists. I raise an eyebrow full of judgement at him, looking at the key that would unlock the cuffs.
Tokoshi chuckles at my intense need to get out of these cuffs, he leans back into the chair; his blue- grey eyes boring into me. "I don't know... I mean, I kind of like it watching you want to get out of those cuffs so badly. Do you have something to hide from me Bram??" His eyes questions me, his body language was laid back.
I scowl at Tokoshi, pissed and replied with, "Oh, totally. I mean, I obviously want to see that Cronus gets caught and put into purgatory... Again." I watch as Tokoshi swings the key back an' fro' in my face; taunting me and I peel my eyes away from it. I cleared my throat and shake my head to get rid of the idea of lunging for the key.
He lazily slides the key near my reach, his blue-grey eyes full of questions and says, "Like mother and father would even get off their lazy asses and actually do something useful like that. Cronus is not the first to escape purgatory and he will not be the last."
I try to grab the key, but Tokoshi yanks it away from me before I could get a grasp on it and I growl at him. "Damn, you're a sneaky little-..."
Yes, if you were wondering. Tokoshi and I are siblings, no we are not from the same parents... Well except for having the same father and other things that should just not be mentioned right now.... Ahem-, anyways...
Tokoshi holds up a finger to silence me and says, "Now, now. Mother hates it when you swear." He grins at me, clearly poking fun at me.
I kick him in the shins, hard and growl out, "Mother isn't here right now, is she?" I look at the time, and realize it was past midnight. Damn, I'm too late. Cronus probably time skipped by now.
"Boys, boys. Enough arguing, Tokoshi you had a message for dear little brother? " Another familiar voice asks Tokoshi, causing him to flinch. A man wearing a suit appears out of thin air, his brown eyes staring at the two of us and looks at Tokoshi.
Tokoshi slightly winces at the glance that Thaddeus was giving him, he shudders involuntary and says, "Yes, the message. Um, father told me that you need to catch Cronus before the last hour..."
The last hour? What the hell is he talking about? I thought to myself, as I stare at my two brothers with utter confusion. "Wait, the last hour? Tokoshi what the hell is that?" I asked, somewhat confused at what the hell they were talking about and I look at the two of them with lots of questions forming in the back of my mind.
Thaddeus laughs lowly at my questions, he looks at me with those brown eyes and says, "The last hour is when Cronus is able to become the most powerful god like figure in the world if he keeps on draining away the human population. And mother and father wants you to fix it in only two months. No breaks. No anything." Thaddeus stares at me with a straight face as he waits for an answer.
