Chapter 7: Is this what love feels like

Previously on Miss Fortune...

"Yeah, why don't you take it then, Hawkmoth? Afraid, because I know where you are? Well, you should give up your miraculous and give it to me. Take my powers that you granted to me, so that I can fight you right now in this position. I don't care if I'm Ladybug or Marinette. I will still fight because... I love Adrien..."

"I love you too, M'Lady..."

"Go ahead, Hawkmoth! Take my powers away, beat me, and drag me down. But don't hurt Adrien. That's the only thing I will ask for you. Now, Hawkmoth, try to take it away from me. You know that I won't be afraid of anything because you made me like from the first place. Take me instead of Adrien. Take my life away. Isn't that what you wanted from me from the first place?"

"What? W-What do you mean of taking your life away? You never told me about that, Marinette! What do you mean about that!"

"Oh~ So you didn't know about taking her life away instead of yours, Adrien. We had a deal when she was back to her senses for a minute, that I was planning on to kill you but she was crying and begging me if I could take her life away instead of yours. She said that she will sacrifice herself instead of you so, we made a deal before she comes back to her senses. I didn't know you will still remember that even though you are not in your senses, Marinette."

"I do. Do you want to know why? It's the power of love. I think you never know what is the power of love because you never have space for love in your heart. Do you?"

When Marinette said these words, Hawkmoth was surprised and he had a frown on his face. He was thinking that he once had love in his heart but it went away after his wife disappeared and his son hates him because he thinks it's his fault of his mother getting away from them. As he stops his rewinds, he starts to talk.

"I...once did have love in my heart. But it slowly shrinking, after my son's left him and me and he thinks it's my fault. But it's not. And my son is..."

As Hawkmoth, ends his sentence, "Adrien Agreste..." Adrien was surprised because he didn't know Hawkmoth was his father and now he needs to fight his father in order to stop this akumatizing. 

"F-Father? H-How can you be...How can you be, H-Hawkmoth?"

"I found this miraculous with your mother's miraculous. She wanted me to keep this miraculous and use it if only I wanted to but then, I got into evil and started to akumatize everyone and get my happiness with your mother but somehow that failed. I knew you would be disappointed at me like your mother and somehow leave me like your mother. So I didn't tell you. But few days ago, I learned the truth that you are Chat Noir and Marinette is Ladybug. I didn't wanted to hurt you but I had to fight you get my happiness and make this world mine. But now, it doesn't matter anymore. I don't think I can't fight anyone now. I will give up everything like your mother did and give my miraculous away."

"You only care about yourself don't you? You only talk about your life and you don't care about other people's life and ruin for them and you just ruin the whole world. If you want power, then go ahead. I won't be saying anything about obtaining major power, but one thing I can tell you is that you should care about other people from now on and shall live like a normal civilian and go into jail maybe because you always make crimes. There's tons of crimes you've done in the past few years, and now you need to pay it back for them because it's your fault. Everything is your fault, Father..."

As soon as Gabriel hears this from his own son, he was sad and tired of this game. He knew one day, he needs to pay for what he did to the world and to the country. He needed to pay it back or else it would be too late for him to calm down the situation. 

"Hawkmoth, from this day and now on, your miraculous is mine. You are now ineligible to obtain any miraculous from anyone and think about obtaining the powers. I shall return it to the proper owner."

"Marinette..."

"Adrien, I'm sorry. But this is only thing I can do to stop this situation. You don't want to see anyone getting hurt from us or from your father."

"No, it's not, Marinette. It just feels like...like I'm the son...son of the criminal, of Hawkmoth. It feels the world is blaming me instead of my father."

"Oh, Adrien...Don't feel like that. You know that is not true. You didn't intend to born from him and your wonderful mother. It wasn't your choice to be born in this scary world. Don't feel like that and don't even think about those things. Okay, Adrien?"

"Marinette..."

Adrien was so touched of what Marinette said to him and he hugs her tightly as if he is not going to let her go forever and keep her until death to them apart. 

'Adrien, you seem like a very lonely person. It's not easy balancing two lives at once. Now you have me, I have you and we can be together forever.'

"Now, Hawkmoth, give me your miraculous to me, now! Or I will call the proper owner and fight with him and make you give that miraculous to us and return to him. So right now, Hawkmoth!"

"You win, Ladybug. But not until this finishes."

When he finished his sentence, he took out his stick and he raised his hand to kill her and his was ready to kill her. Marinette wasn't even ready or predicted this would happen to her. She was scared, afraid, and didn't have anyone to protect her. But she was ready to get killed but when she was about close her eyes, Adrien came in running in front of her and made him get stabbed instead. 

"Adrien! ADRIEN!"

"Why did I just do?" He drops the weapon as he noticed he stabbed the wrong person.

"Adrien...ADRIEN!"

Adrien got stabbed and he was falling down to Marinette's laps and he was thinking,

'Is this what your love feels like, Father? If it is how it feels like, I don't want it, Father. I don't want it. Sorry, Marinette. My story ends here. See you in the eternal life. I will see you there and let's live happily ever after. I love you...'

"Adrien! Please, wake up! You know I hate your jokes but I love how you prank on me but this is serious! It's not funny! Wake up, Adrien! Adrien!"

As Marinette keeps on calling Adrien's name, she looks at Gabriel with a fearful eyes and she was crying. She was mad and furious to Gabriel. 

"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS, YOU DEVIL!"

Adrien is dead and now he is gone from Marinette's life. No one was there to help her but now it was only Hawkmoth and her and she was mad furious about Gabriel by killing him. Marinette was now ready to fight for Adrien's life because she didn't want this. She wanted her to die instead of him and bring him back to life and take her's. Will Marinette fight for her love, Adrien? Or Will Marinette die with Adrien during Hawkmoth's fight?
