Chapter 10 - School

I hadn't heard from Brad since we kissed, and I was worried. Was it an accident? Did he mean to do it? Did he feel about me in that way? Was our friendship ruined?

I stood on the grass at the front of school waiting for my mum. I glanced at my phone in my hand, but still nothing.

This week has been so dull. All I could think about in every lesson was Brad. The way our lips touched and how he put his hand on my waist and held me close.

The night that Brad kissed me, I was up till about 2:00 in the morning talking to my friend about what had happened. When she went I lay in bed scrolling through tumblr. Some new pictures of Brad were posted and I had to turn off my phone. I set my alarm for 7:00 and put it on my bedside table. I lay back onto my bed. I tried to get to sleep but I couldn't. The next morning I woke up and my eyes felt so heavy. I got changed and walked down the stairs to eat some breakfast. When I walked up to the classroom after I had arrived at school, I saw my friend Sophie, and she ran over to me and pulled me into a hug.

The week went by incredibly slowly and the usual routine of school went on. Boring assemblies, and pointless equations to learn for physics. At the end of maths on Wednesday, my teacher asked to see me. I packed up my books and reluctantly walked to the front of the class to speak to her when everyone had gone.

"Are you okay Emily? You seem really quiet at the moment. Is everything alright?" she asked me.

"Oh I'm fine, just a little tired." I smiled.

She sent me on my way after I insisted that I was perfectly alright...I wasn't really though.

So it was at 4:34, whilst still waiting for my mum that I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I looked down and a smile leapt across my face.

Brad: "Hey Em. Sorry for not replying to your texts. Been really hectic this week. Do you want to come around tomorrow? B xxx"

I replied back saying that I would love to. I was over the moon. I couldn't wait to see him again.

"Emily, come and get in the car." I heard a voice say.

I looked up and saw my mum poking her head out of the car window. I put my phone in my pocket, opened the car door and sat in the front seat with my bag on top of me.

"Quick, we have to go pick up your brother." She said.

"I'm sorry I have been waiting here for a while!" I said.

After supper I went upstairs to my room and started on some homework. I realised that it was getting quite late so I stopped and had a shower. When I had finished and I was dressed in my pyjamas, I walked over to my wardrobe and tried to find something to wear for tomorrow.  I decided on my black leggings, converses and a new plum coloured jumper that I had bought recently with Sophie.

I needed to get a good night's sleep if I was catching the bus early to meet Brad, so I put my phone on charge, set my alarm and went to sleep.
