We sat in silence for a while until Tris got up.

“What does everyone want to do?” He asked, cleaning up the glasses and sweeping the biscuit crumbs into his hand and then throwing them into the bin.

No one had replied to his question yet.

I leant forward and gave my cup to him when he came back, and sank back into the chair, feeling anxious.

Brad was staring into the distance, looking forlorn.

I just wanted to hug him.

I gazed out of one of the windows in the room.

The fields were a luscious green and the sun was still shining but Autumn had begun and the leaves were starting to fall of the trees, covering the ground.

I spotted a riding mower by a barn and the corners of my mouth lifted.

“Like what you see Emily?” I heard Tris say behind me.

I turned to face him and gave him a cold glare.

“You and innuendos…” I said.

“What innuendo?” He smirked and winked at me.

“I was looking at the mower outside.” I said, trying to change the conversation.

“Oh yeah. Want to go on it?” He asked me.

I glanced over at Sophie and we both turned and grinned at each other and then looked over to Tris and nodded.

“Anyone else want to come?” He asked everyone.

“I think that Dean and I will stay and discuss future plans and things.” Joe responded.

“I’ll come along for a laugh.” James grinned and stood up, dragging Connor with him.

Joe and Dean grabbed their things and went upstairs.

Everyone started to walk outside and Sophie held the door open for me as I was behind her.

I was about to step outside when I realised that Brad wasn't coming.

Sophie nodded and closed the door, before jogging to catch up with the others, as I pointed to Brad and mouthed that I needed to talk to him.

I shuffled over to Brad and sat down into the sofa next to him, putting my arms around his waist.

“You okay?” I whispered, my head resting on his chest.

“Sort of.” He mumbled.

“Who cares what they think.” I said.

“Yeah I know. I…I don’t know…I just…” He stuttered.

“Just forget about it and come and have some fun outside.” I said.

I stood up and dragged him off of the sofa.

We shut the door behind us and walked with speed to reach the others.

As we were walking, I pulled out my phone from my pocket and scrolled through twitter briefly.

Joe: “Some people need to consider the consequences before doing the action.”

I winced as I read it and a small sound of worry escaped my mouth.

Brad glanced at me with an anxious look on his face and I shook my head and smiled, before seeing what James had tweeted just after him.

James: “Some things happen for a reason and we should embrace these things and carry on. We can’t go back. All we can do is go forwards.”
