“I’ll pick you up at 4:30 then.” Brad said to me, as I opened the car door.

“Cool. Bye.” I replied.

“Emily, wait.” He said quickly.

“Yes?” I ducked my head back down through the car and looked at him, my body half out of the car.

“I love you.” He mumbled.

“Me too.” I whispered, before getting out of the car completely and shutting the door.

I stood still for a moment, taking in the words that he had just said to me, and grinned like a Cheshire cat.

I walked forwards, towards the entrance to school, as I noticed that someone from my year was watching me.

I realised that we were both walking in the same direction, as our form rooms were next to each other.

“Hi.” I said, breaking the awkward silence.

“Hi.” She replied to me.

I entered in the code for the door in the pin code, and walked through, holding it for her, before heading up the stairs to my form room.

“Bit of a weird question.” I heard, from behind me, “But was that your brother in your car?”

I registered that she was asking me, and then laughed at the question, but realising that she genuinely wanted to know, said, “Oh, no, just a very close friend.” before walking into my form room, and leaving her standing in the corridor staring at me.

I smirked to myself, as it hit me that she had probably found him attractive, seeing as she had asked me who he was in relation to me.

I set my bag down on the table, feeling extremely proud of myself for talking to one of the most popular girls in the school. Even though we did actually have a conversation yesterday, because I got shouted at in class for no valid reason, I was really shy so I was happy with myself for saying that to her.

I took out my phone from my pocket and texted Sophie to ask her where she was. She was normally here really early, because her mum was a teacher, so I was surprised to find her absent from the classroom at this time.

Just as I had sent the text, she walked into the room.

“Why do you look so happy?” She asked me, weaving in and out of the tables and chairs to reach me.

I realised that I was bearing a huge smile across my face.

“I’ll tell you then, seeing as you asked.” I laughed, and she pulled a chair out from under the table and sat down next to me.

I told her that I was staying at Brad’s and how someone from our year had asked me about Brad, as she has seen him in the car with me.

“I’m so proud of you for saying that. I would have never said anything like that! I wouldn’t have even started a conversation!” She exclaimed, as I told her what I had said to the girl.

Sophie wanted to ask more about last night and what we did, but more people started to arrive and sit down in the form room, around us, so we had to change the conversation.

As per usual though, our conversations normally revolved around the internet, and we ended up talking about the new format of tumblr.

After a while, I decided that I should probably go and pack my bag for the day, but I realised that we had the taster day for sixth form, so we didn’t have any normal lessons, so we wouldn't need any books.

The day went by really quickly. I had so much fun, and I really enjoyed all the lessons that I took part in.

My favourite lesson of the day was photography. The teacher that teaches it is actually my current art teacher for GCSE, and he is so funny. What made it even better, was that Martha came as well as Sophie.

Sophie is definitely doing photography for a-level, but Martha isn't and came along just for fun, which was great.

My other taster sessions consisted of history of art, politics, geography and fine art.

The day was finally over and we were sitting in the form room waiting for our extremely unorganised form tutor to take the register.

I stared into space, and as per usual, had to be nudged by Sophie to say yes when our teacher called my name.

We all piled out and I went to grab my bag before heading over to my friend’s classroom, across the corridor, as she mentioned, at lunchtime, that she would have food, after school.

I ate three brownies and talked to her for a while.

I then saw that it was 4:30 so I said goodbye to her and walked to the front of the school.

I didn’t have any homework, which was great, so I couldn’t wait to spend an evening with Brad.

I didn’t have to wait long before his car appeared.

I had noticed that even though he was quite disorganised, like me sometimes, his parents were actually quite organised and I was really looking forward to eating at a specific time, and not having to worry about when I was going to be fed, which is what normally happens at home.

I opened the door, sat in the seat, put my bag on my lap and shut the door behind me.

“Hello.” He smiled at me.

“Hi.” I grinned back at him.

“How was your day?” He asked me.

“Pretty good actually.” I responded.

“Well the rest of mine is going to be amazing now you’re here.” He said.

I blushed and put on my seatbelt before turning up the radio, as he started to drive home.
