So I take another hit
Kill another serotonin
With a hand full of beans
And a chest full of weed
Got me singing bout a bitch
While I'm blowing out my steam
Yea I know I got my issues
Why you think I f-ckin' flow?

Malakai

There she was again.

It seemed like no matter how hard I tried to steer clear, her ass was always in my face and in my way. Accept this time she hadn't seen me yet and was arguing with the same guy from last week. She was leaning against a black BMW, and whether or not it was hers or his was a mystery. Either way it had drug money written all over it. The guy looked like he was gonna get violent. Before I could make my over she shoved him away. He got in the car and sped away while she took a cigarette out and lit it with shaky hands. I forgot I was standing there until she glanced up at me.

"What the hell you lookin' at?"

Any ounce of sympathy I had for that hoe left just as quickly as it had come.

I kept walking past her without saying anything until she talked. "Where are you going?"

I looked at her like she was crazy. "To school."

She blinked as if remembering that we were still in school. "You ever skipped before? I mean I ain't going today and...ion know I just ain't wanna skip alone." She took another long drag from her already burning cigarette and watched the ashes fall onto the sidewalk.

I shook my head. "Why would I skip school witchu? I barely know you, you ain't been nothin' but a nuisance, and yo ass almost got me fired yesterday. And I don't even know your name."

She rolled her eyes and threw the cigarette on the ground, mushing it with her shoe. "My bad. It was just an idea. And my name is Nyla."

She started walking the opposite way and something in my head told me to stop her. I thought about it deep and hard. I didn't like to get into trouble, especially for pops' sake. But then again I really didn't feel like going to school today.

"Hold up!" I yelled.

The cab pulled up on the rich side of town. Malakai got out after me and we walked to the gated community across the street. "What the hell are we doing upstate?" He muttered.

"I gotta get something. Don't ask me questions when you the one who wanted to come." I snapped back. He sucked his teeth and zipped his hoodie up, looking around suspiciously. I rang the buzzer a couple times before getting an answer.

"Yo."

"King it's me, let us in." He rang back a couple seconds later.

"Who is 'us' Nyla?" He said.

"Me and a motherfucking friend. Just let me in." I heard a buzz and the gates started to open. I walked ahead, not waiting to see if Malakai had followed. He apparently did though because after a minute he huffed.

"I shoulda went to school."

I looked back at him, " Is you gonna whine all day because let me know now." He shook his head and we finally made it to the door. I banged on the door until King opened it.

"Girl what the hell you bangin on my door like you da feds for? You know better." He wrapped his arms around me and I giggled into his neck.

"Whatever. You got that good stuff?" King was no longer looking at me, but staring at Malakai instead who was busy standing awkwardly in the doorway.

"Who is this?"

I bit my lip. "This is Malakai. We just chillin Kay, but seriously do you have what I asked for?"

He snapped out of it. "Hell yeah baby girl, you know I do. Hold up a sec."

King went into the back and came back with a variety of Marijuana. "You want anything stronger maybe? Crystal? Cocain?" He said as I handed him the money. I smiled at him and made my way to the door.

"Bye baby."

Malakai and I were in my room. He was sitting cross legged on my floor, while I was on the bed. For most of the day we had messed around and gone to Marlowe's and then back here. He hadn't asked about my parents yet and I didn't bring them up.

"So you tellin'me you've never smoked before? Shit I gotta blaze you out now."

For the second time that day he smiled at me. The first time was when I had accidentally lit my hair on fire with the end of my cigarette. It made me realize that I liked when he smiled, and I wanted to make him do it over and over again.

"Nah. Never crossed my mind."

I bit my lip and went to retrieve my pipe. I cleaned it out and put a gram it it, pulling out my lighter. I stood in front of me. "Okay so all you gotta do is hold this part." I pointed to the hole on the side. "And then let go when I tell you. Inhale through your mouth first and then into your lungs." I demonstrated and handed him the pipe.

Malakai looked at me and did what I said carefully. He coughed a bit and then smiled at me, his big brown lips forming into a slow smile. He licked them once, drawing my attention immediately. "Aha, that's pretty fucking good." His eyes glossed over.

I grinned a little bit. "Yeah I know. Aren't you glad we skipped?"

He didn't answer, his eyes roamed over my body and landed on my breast, when I noticed my nipples were screaming for attention. I crossed my arms across my chest, feeling my cheeks heat up. For the first time in forever, I was actually embarrassed that I hadn't thought of putting on a bra that morning.

He was snapped out of his trance when his cellphone rang. He grabbed it, finally removing his eyes from me completely. "Yeah?"

He listened for a minute, his face growing more and more annoyed. "Aw'ight pop, i'm going." I watched him grab his jacket and hang up the phone.

"What's wrong?" I got up too.

"I gotta go to football practice. Thanks for today." He groaned.

I nodded, playing with my ear. "I could go too. I ain't got shit else to do."

He looked back at me for a second. "Uhm naw. Coach probably wouldn't let you stay anyway. But for real, today was cool."

Before I could say anything else he was gone.
