Malakai parked the car in front of our complex and shut the engine off. I stared straight ahead.

My eyes were swollen and red from crying after discovering I was now six weeks pregnant. I was feeling all sorts of things right now, including nauseous.

Malakai sighed and looked over at me, "Baby it's ok, I can take care of it."

I gazed at him in confusion, "Why wouldn't we both do it?"

He seemed to be relieved. "Ok good then, we got that covered. I'm sure we can find a clinic by-"

"What the fuck are you talking about?" I cut him off.

He eyeballed me in confusion, "Ny, we literally just talked about it. I said I'd handle it-"

"Yeah I thought you meant take care of the baby, not get a fucking abortion!"I snapped.

"Why you getting so upset for?" He raised his voice back.

"Cause you sitting up here tryna fucking kill my baby!" I was getting hysterical at this point.

"It's not even a baby yet."

"I don't give a fuck!"

He sighed, "Nyla, you not thinking about this rationally. We still dodging the fuckin' drug lord you managed to piss off, we have been for two years now. You really think having this baby gone be beneficial to us right now?"

"Is that the real reason here or is it cause you don't want kids Malakai!" I was feeling too many things to be calm right now.

"Both!"

I laughed and shook my head, "there's no way in hell I'm getting an abortion."

"If you not getting an abortion, what the fuck you sitting up here crying for?"

"Because I'm happy!" I yelled. "I want this Malakai, I really do and I always have. Nobodies ever fucking loved me the way I needed, and I just wanna be able to do that for this baby. And I'm gonna do it with or without you." I said harshly, crying all over again.

Malakai shook his head and I could tell I hurt his feelings. "I love you."

I sniffled, "You know what I mean."

He sighed, "I gotta go blow off some steam."

I clenched my fist. "So that's it?"

"I guess."

I got out and slammed the door. He didn't even wait until I was five feet away from the car to pull off.

I glared after him angrily and went upstairs. As soon as I got inside I found my laptop and searched for baby names, good prenatal vitamins, and pregnancy symptoms.

I sighed and leaned back. The doctor had recommended a good OBGYN and I planned on getting my first check up within the next week.

With or without Malakai.
