Nyla
I groaned, rolling to the side and bumping into pure flesh. My eyes snapped open and I hissed at the sunlight that stabbed my eyes, "Shit." I tried opening them again slowly and took in my surroundings.
Nothing but pink and stuffed bears surrounded me and everything from last night came flooding back all at once. "Shit." I mumbled once again.
Malakai was out cold next to me, covers barely covering his naked body. I shook him, thumped his chest, and even yelled in his ear but he was completely passed out. I groaned in frustration, but was cut off by the ringing of my phone. I ran over to my bag and pulled it out while simultaneously putting my dress back on.
"Yeah?" I said distractedly.
"I'm outside. Don't try to run, you're surrounded. Don't try to make this harder than it has to be, princesa." Castillo's voice ran chills down my spine.
I cast a glance towards Malakai's sleeping body and my heart started to sink. There was no way I was going to get out of this one easy, and there was no use in even trying.
"Okay. I'm coming."
"Good. I'm waiting." The call ended.
I threw my phone back into my bag and immediately ran over to Malakai. I used all of the strength I had to hoist his body up into a sitting position and winded my hand back, slapping him hard in the face.
"Fuck man!" His eyes popped open and he sat up, caressing his cheek. "What the fuck wrong witch'u?"
Malakai we have to go now, please." I tugged on his arm urgently, but he just squinted up at me.
"Go where? For what?" He murmured.
"I don't know, but we can't stay here." I snapped. He still seemed skeptical so I took a deep breath, "Remember that Spanish guy that was at my apartment a month ago? He's a drug lord, the police are looking for him and he's here now, trying to take me away with him."
Malakai blinked several times, "What the fuck?!" He pushed me out of the way, going to the window and lifting the blinds. He backed away and ran his hands through his hair several times, "Are you fuckin' crazy?!" He spat at me.
"I tried to tell-"
"You didn't fuckin' try soon enough!" He snapped, quickly getting dressed.
"You would have left." I said quietly under my breath.
I thought I had said it quiet enough to where he couldn't hear me but he sneered, "You damn right." Malakai grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room, looking around the top floor for a way out.
"Damn." He said desperately. My phone rang again and Malakai pulled me into another room. There were passed out bodies and tons of trash inside, but also a window in the center that faced the side of the house. "Answer the phone, throw him off." He said, shoving the window open and looking down.
I picked up, "I'm coming out the back, this isn't my house and I don't wanna get caught leaving."
"You better not be lying." He said cooly, ending our connection once again.
There was fencing that ran up the side of the house and Malakai wordlessly climbed out, carefully making his way down. I followed suit, letting him grab me and set me down. "Let's go." He whispered, jerking his chin towards his car across the street.
We started a slow jog only to be yelled at by who I assumed was one of Castillo's men. "Hey!"
"Fuck!" Malakai grabbed my hand and we sprinted as fast as we could across the street. There were footsteps behind us but we didn't look back. We finally made it to the car, throwing ourselves in and locking the door.
